Property gates and building doors are often left permanently open allowing anyone into the complex. Facilities are on their last leg. It took until August 2018 after Irma’s September 2017 hit, for facilities to return to normal. Construction was ongoing, dumpsters, noise, dirt, caution tap and wandering construction workers everywhere for months. The roofs were still leaking and mold was evident on walls, vents and items inside my apartment. When it rained outside, rain literally fell from the ceiling in my apartment. I have the video still.
The inside of my old apt 508B has sustained water damage since Irma and in May 2018 the presence of water was so extensive that the base boards were removed. Fans and water extracting machines have been placed in the apartment. The removed baseboards had not been fixed for weeks leaving nails exposed. The presence of water has caused mold and damage to my personal belongs which I have had to dispose of. Apartment smells damp like wet, dirty water. This mold causes difficulty breathing and coughing resulting in respiratory and sinus issues. Buildings have flat roofs, THIS WILL ALWAYS BE A PROBLEM. If there is ever another storm in Florida, expect a 12 month rebuild.
When inquiring in person to management (after chasing them down for weeks with no response) when this would be fixed, and what options are to work through ie break lease? move to another unit? monthly rent fee dropped? An apology? I was informed by Beach Place management, Mimi and Ralph of no solutions. “They have to live like this” so I have to too. I said this may need to be escalated and Mimi responded “we have lawyers, go ahead”. Defensive, nasty management.
I moved out when my lease was up. They sent me fees for carpet damage (after all the damage the apartment went through, the nerve!) and incorrectly recorded my rent (which I always paid in advance), then threatened to send me to collections for their accounting error. I just paid to be done with them. A shame, nice locations, ...
Read moreHi, this is Guillermo Cruz, a current tenant, and I would like this to be a message for the public and corporate to hopefully do something about the cancer they have working at the leasing office, as that’s the best way I can describe this. It’s difficult to have a productive conversation with an individual as unprofessional, entitled, and most likely racist as their property manager. Today, I went to their office with a request to fix some issues in my apartment. From the moment I approached the property management, I was given an attitude and unwarranted disrespect. I was given metal doors for the AC units and hardware for the bathroom lights that had been rusted since day one. Their maintenance crew said they would not be able to work on those. However, these were supposed to be taken care of prior to our move-in, and they failed to do that. I politely asked her if they could take a look at that, twice. The property manager did not have a friendly attitude while I stood by my point. When I spoke to her today, I told her this was an ongoing issue that I had spoken to her maintenance people about, and she said she would not be taking a look. This kind of attitude is evident in a manager who thinks their status and position places them above others. My suggestion to tenants is to pay attention to anything rusted before you move in because after you move in, it’s no longer their concern despite it being unhealthy and a risk to infants or children in your home. It’s completely unacceptable and I will be speaking to...
Read moreThis place don’t get further then just a location! I thought I was renting in a family gate community but later I realize that it was more like a Hotel type a thing. They do Airbnb in few of their buildings what makes the community a little bit unsafe specially walking around the community or when enjoying the pool! You will see strangers around you all the time! You would never guess if the person next to you is your neighbor or just someone from outside the community. Pretty bad!!! The kitchen appliances and cabinets are very old (the apartment itself is old). Another thing that you would like to consider talking about comfort is the laundry thing (this place is specifically TOP at this concept) they will make your life miserable making you going up and down the building looking for ONE only ONE washing machine that works properly!! OMG what a nightmare!!!!! I was located at building A which is literally next to the shopping center next to the community and at the same time unfortunately also next to the Trash Dumpster from the shopping center (imagine the smell from that tank hitting my balcony) I can tell you NOT a pleaser one. Now talking about management (don’t want spend time on this) rude and no manners that would cover all the campus… If your strategy is showing a cold and rude attitude to your tenants in order to receive respect then you guys doing a GREAT job. Firing some people from the leasing office to make it look like there was a change…. hmmm didn’t fixed anything. Like I said “THIS PLACE IS JUST ABOUT...
