I worked at this store 8/10/2024 to 1/30/2025. Work hours are constantly being changed, if you do not check your schedule the day before, you will most likely get to work at the wrong time the next day, and will be asked why you got there late. The website to check your schedule is awful: if you clocked in at work 1 min late the website will kick you out once you are coming to the "my day" section to check your schedule, and you have to sign in again with your username and password; from there it will take you to a "reliability" chart, with all the timely and tardiness times you have clocked in and out. Only after justifying that you can go to your schedule. If a customer is trying to return a (clothe) item without the price tag but with the receipt (which in many retail jobs I had been told to not take but send the customer to customer service instead), a supervisor ("captain") will come and yell at you in front of the customer, without even listening to you telling her why you did so. She will interrupt you in the middle of your talking and yell at you. If you are doing the closing shift one day, a manager will tell you you cannot take your break after 7PM (even if you are leaving at 10PM), then another day another manager will tell you you cannot take your break after 6PM for the same shift, and even another day another manager will tell you to not take your break after 5PM. There are mice in the employees' break room, and rats in the receiving area (where merchandise shipments are received); an occasional rat would walk out of the receiving onto the 1st floor, men's section, and scare customers. I saw one and also did 4 customers by me; the animal ran right by a manager and he only smiled at it. About 20 mins later a customer told me she saw a different rat on the same floor by the Active Men's stock room (where they likely have a nest), it walked underneath the stockroom door's 5" gap.
They should close the store and leave the space to be leased to a better-purpose-oriented, cleaner business, that is much fairer...
Read moreWent here yesterday (4/23/23) with my mom during our trip to the palisades mall to look for a dress for a summer wedding. We got there, actually found a close spot in front that lead us into The Macy's backstage area on the 3rd floor. We walked in and immediately headed to the dresses. I actually looked in the petite section, while my mom looked in the plus section. After looking, we headed into the fitting room, we tried on our dresses. Fitting room was clean, and there was no line. After trying on dresses, we looked some more, this time in the juniors department, and the petite dresses. Found some more cute dresses, and went into the fitting room again. The store got busier, and this time, there was a line. Some associate told us to go to the other fitting rooms on the other side of the store, this one had less of a line, and moved quickly. appreciate that the associate also helped us by showing us where the other fitting rooms were. We actually found the perfect dress that fit. Next we went to the cashier to pay for our items. There was only 1 cashier on at one point, but 1 more joined to help the line move quicker. First my mom paid for her items, which was a bra and her dress. She paid with her macy's credit card. I paid for my dress, which was at a discounted price because i used my macy's credit card, and they were having 30% most items. Store was pretty organized too. We also came back here after browsing the mall to look for shoes. i couldn't find anything, but my mom did. Shoe section was a bit more disorganized, mainly with shoes on the floor just laid there by the last customer who tried them on.. However, shortly after we noticed it, an associate came over and cleaned up the mess. My mom found a nice pair of shoes, and purchased them. We cashed out by the mens section on the 1st floor, and that cashier was very nice. My mom paid with her macy's credit card, and got a discount on her new shoes! Hopefully will be back if we ever need...
