They have a beautiful selection of yarns, all of which are wool or wool blends (for example I saw a lovely yarn 70% wool 30% silk, I’m not talking about polyester or synthetics). The shop is very cute and they also have some baby clothes, buttons, hooks, and accessories. What made it 3 stars for me was the service I experienced. When I entered the store, there were three people there (I believe they were all employees, at least one is) just chatting. They continued to ignore me the whole time I were there, and did not even say hello. Once I was clearly ready to check out, one of the employees finally said “if you need anything let me know”. I was helped checking out, and ended up ordering yarn they did not have enough of in store. They quoted me 1 week, and said they’d call me when it’s in. Well, it’s been 2.5 weeks and I never heard a peep, so I called them. They said it’ll be another week at least. It’s not the wait I am upset by because shipping delays are out of their control, but the complete lack of notification. In my opinion it’s bad service to not notify someone if there’s going to be SUCH a delay. Part of why I enjoy shopping locally at small businesses, other than the ethics, is the amazing customer service. It really put me off how ignored I was both in store and with my order. I’m not sure I can recommend this store, especially when I have received great service at other yarn stores in westchester....
Read moreVisited this beautiful yarn shop today when I was in town on a business trip and I couldn’t be happier! I bought some yarn for a new project and Elise gifted me some store branded knitting needles. I asked Elise if I can sit and knit for a bit and she invited me to join a knitting class group as they were about to meet as I walked in and there were some available chairs. I knitted, laughed, and chatted with the group. What a fun bunch!! Thank you Elise, Tina, Margaret, MaryLee, Patty, and the other member (didn’t catch the name, sorry!). Thank you for the great hospitality and warmth! I had...
Read moreI've been going to knitting classes at Flying Fingers for a few months now. Elise, the proprietor, and her staff, are super nice and accommodating. Tina, the instructor for my class is a knitting wizard! She helped me through a project that was probably too advanced for me, with patience and good humor, and the result was a beautiful, heirloom quality sweater of which I am very proud! I cannot begin to describe the beautiful yarn selection, the gracious staff, even the other customers are fun! A truly...
