Half pricecbooks has always bern a great place to visit for me. With the huge book selection and wonderful employees it not only makes it a wonderful book adventure but a definate go to place to see what new things therexare to find. These stores will buy your used books and also sell used books at great prices. They also sell video games and sone board games and dvds ofvmovies and TV shows, comic books and even music. If you are looking for something specific like a particular item or specific genre and you cant find it in their store theyvwill gladly help try and find it. They have huge warehouses and other stores that store items so never be afraid to ask. Selling used books you won't get the top value nor half but. More likely quarter because you have to remember they sell your used stuff. But ferl free to give tips if you knowcofvplaced that may buy forvgreater amounts just not giving that money immediately. They might give you more then. Every book and item is in great condition. I havecgotten books inthought inwould nevertheless able to get at the store. Each time I go in its an adventure to me to justvlook around and see what they have as their inventory is different from store to store and you never know what you may find. If you love books and love video gamesxand love movies I highly recommend checking it out. Its an adventure every time I go in. And as i said the employees are wonderful they too share a passion in the itemsxsokd there. If onecseams not very nice do not worry they probably hadxa bad day...and I guarantee the next day they will be back to their old self and be realky neat. I have yet to run into anyone who works there who is excessively mean or rude. Thecstoresxare clean and well due to their volume of product may seam very full. Please support them, such thingsclike books and such are disappearing on purpose in this world because companiesxwant you to not have something you can read and enjoy when you want. Theybwantvyou to rent it only not have it and generally not to be able to enjoy things with out paying constantly. Support your half price books store and support your library. Also half price books is a store not a sit around and read books for hours store. If youbwant tondo that buy something . Or go to a library. Only weird experience I have had is from shop lifters who wanted a book I was going to purchase and some idiot who was hanging out getting a big stack of books so they coukd sit down and read them all with out purchasing anything. Its a store to allow you to pay low prices to get winderful works of written and media art to enjoy at your home or...
Read moreI was there to sell some old books and possibly pick up some new ones. I wasn't expecting a GOOD price for my old stuff after all, it is a secondhand bookstore and a chain at that, practically the Gamestop of the book world, but what they gave me was downright unfair. Not to mention the man who was running their book-selling counter was more than a little standoffish, his opening line was "Put your books over there and try not to block the door" He didn't even say hello. When it came to actually buying books, their selection was small and rather uninteresting there were bare or half full shelves everywhere with little tabs saying to excuse their mess as they were reorganizing. Shockingly they had more new books than secondhand on the shelves that weren't empty and the new books they DID have were mostly republished copies of existing work, mostly "classics", so I guess of you don't have a copy of The Complete Works Of HP Lovecraft or The Complete Sherlock Holmes and wanted to waste gas to drive there instead of ordering online, this would be the place. The used books they DID have were in quite shabby condition as well. everything was covered on a fine layer of dust, even the new stuff. Their staff at the front of the shop was also very pushy, I was bothered while browsing so that they could ask me to join their mailing list for coupons. That's something that should be brought up at the register, NOT while I'm trying to make a selection. I eventually agreed just so I would be left alone and despite being given a coupon for 20% off for signing up, I...

I visited the store to sell used books and DVDs, but my experience was far from positive. Initially, the atmosphere seemed pleasant, and the store offers a good variety of books, music, and puzzles. However, upon approaching the buying counter, I felt uncomfortable as one of the employees appeared to be speaking about me under her breath to a coworker. It seemed as though I was a bother to even be in there.
They informed me they could only process half of my four bins due to being backed up, which I understood. When I returned an hour later, I was offered $1.77 for the items and was told that my bin of DVDs was rejected because an animal has relieved themselves in the bin! This was surprising, as the bin had been gone through multiple times during our recent garage sale without any such issue. Upon inspection, we did notice a slight mildew smell likely caused by rain, but there was no animal odor as claimed.
I found the interaction unprofessional, especially being made to feel like a nuisance and receiving such a dismissive explanation. The male employees were courteous, but the female employee’s attitude left much to be desired. I recommend customer service training for her, especially regarding how to address customers’ concerns more respectfully.
I won’t be returning or recommending this place based on...
