Iāve felt disrespected and discriminated against by the assistant manager, Shannon, on multiple occasions at this location. Itās not just meāmy wife and sister-in-law have also shared similar negative experiences while shopping here. Shannonās behavior consistently feels targeted and hurtful, as if sheās using her position to make certain customers feel unwelcome. There are serious concerns that her actions may reflect bias or discrimination, potentially toward Afghan nationals, Middle Eastern individuals, Muslims, and/or non-English speakers. One troubling incident involved my wife attempting to return a product. Shannon denied the return, claiming the item was worn. At that same time, I took the exact same item to a different staff member, and the return was accepted without issue. This kind of inconsistent treatment is difficult to ignore and raises questions about fairness. In a separate incident, I personally experienced similar treatment. As a Middle Eastern individual, I attempted to return a product and was met with several reasons from Shannon for denying the return: She said the product was worn. She claimed a physical receipt was required and refused to accept a clear photo of the receipt with the product tag. She refused to process the return because the item was purchased at a different Kohlās location and insisted that I take it back to the original store where it was bought. Most concerning of all, she implied that a photo of a receipt indicates the item was stolenāsomeone had taken a picture of a legitimate receipt and was now attempting to "cash it in" with a return. This was extremely embarrassing for me. Not only did she refuse to cooperate with the return process, but she also provided me with a false phone number when I requested the contact information to file a complaint. The next day, after doing my own research, I contacted the store to speak with the store manager, Jen. However, the call was routed to someone named Ema, who claimed to be the manager and the issue was escalated to her. I also left a brief voicemail with the corporate office to further escalate the matter. This pattern of behavior is deeply troubling and has left my family and me feeling singled out and disrespected. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously and that the situation is investigated thoroughly. No customer should feel this way when shopping.
A special shoutout to Dianna ā sheās always been kind, friendly, and highly professional. She consistently goes above and beyond to help us. Thereās also another gentleman who works in the same department as Dianna and provides great customer service as well, though Iām certain his name is not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs an 8-month pregnant Black woman, I had one of the worst experiences ever in this store. I accidentally left my phone in a front basket, realized it as soon as I got to my car, and calmly went back inside. My phone was gone. I politely asked an employee for help, and Kody, the Assistant Manager, rudely cut me off and said ā we dont have your phone and I canāt make an announcement write your number down and I will follow upā in my head Iām like my phone was just in the basket less than a minute Iām walking back in here and itās gone it has to still be here so I stayed calm and respectful because I just wanted my phone back.
A kind customer Kody was checking out let me use her phone. When I called my number, an employee answered and told me to meet her in the makeup section to retrieve my phone. I told Kody, āSee, my phone is here and you were no help,ā then walked off to meet the employee. Instead of doing his job, and continuing checking people out like he was Kody followed me, clearly trying to cause drama because I told him he was no help in front of everyone at the front if the store. I retrieved my phone and kindly thanked the employee, Kody then stands there sbd I kept asking him why he is following me after I already said he was no help he then accused me of ācausing a scene.ā I started recording because I already knew he was on some bs his eyes were bulging he was starring at me like he hated me for calling him out lol he then said he was calling the police and even described me as āShorter Black and pregnantā on the call come to find out he was never in the phone with the police he was trolling wow Completely unacceptable and discriminatory.
When I told him I will wait for the police he kept asking me to leave so I walked out front where my car was and called the police myself . Thatās when they told me they have no record of anyone calling from the store. He was lying to escalate the situation and humiliate me. Kody even followed me outside, harassing me and telling me to move my car while I repeatedly told him to leave me alone. This man targeted me, trolled me, and created a hostile situation for absolutely no reason other than being embarrassed that he was wrong.
I reported everything to the store manager, who only gave me a weak apology and never followed up. This is beyond poor serviceāthis is harassment and discrimination. No pregnant woman, or anyone, should be treated like this. Avoid this store at all costs. Management is terrible, and Kody should not be in a position...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never knew how good the prices were at Kohl's. I love this place. I'm going to start shopping at this place more often. Some things are a little pricey but they do have good sales online. The thing at both Kohl's Tukwila and Federal Way, you cannot find employees for assistance. Even though they have a price scanner, sometimes I have other questions.
My first time going to Kohl's Tukwila I had kind of a bad experience it was in March this year. I bought a itouch watch for a coworker for a birthday present. After paying for it upfront at the jewelry department I realize I needed a gift bag and a little card. I asked the cashier if they had any she pointed me in the direction towards the back of the store. I start walking and I kept noticing this guy behind me and everywhere I went he was there. After I paid for the card and the bag in the back where they were located I walked past him and I said to him; you don't have to follow me I have paid for this. He replied I don't know what you're talking about. I said no you know what I'm talking about and then I left. I was disrespected I felt he profiled me right away and it's not fair. But hey that is Washington for. Not every black person is a thief or a criminal. I work hard everyday just like everybody else...
