I was shopping around 10am, and one of things I needed to buy was a case of broccoli. When I went to checkout, the cashier—without saying a word to me—immediately started removing broccoli from my case. I was confused, so I asked him why he was doing that. Apparently, 10 minutes earlier, someone had found a half-empty case of broccoli in the store. “YOU took the broccoli from another case and put it into your own,” they accused.

What?! First, you shouldn’t automatically accuse one of your own customers of theft before asking them any questions or even saying anything at all to them. Second, the supposed “broccoli heist” happened before I was even in the store. And third, my case of broccoli wasn’t any fuller than the many others in the cooler, so why would you believe I was the one stealing?

When I asked to speak to his supervisor and tried to explain this, they didn’t offer a single apology or admission that they were wrong for accusing me of theft. Instead, they just doubled down even more. I felt so upset and embarrassed, and I can’t help but think I was being racially profiled as a woman of color. Why else would they think I was the thief?

At the time, I really wanted to just walk out without a purchase, but I needed some of the items for my business that was about to open, and I had no other option. Safe to say, I will NOT shop here again. Completely rude and unprofessional conduct from...

Waited behind a customer for several minutes only to have the checker say 'next' and call someone over from twenty feet away who had just walked up. Apparently, there is a line that forms further away from the register. The signs that explained this were not aiming towards the register area, and one wasnt even facing the customer walkway and could not be read. The checker just ignored me until i walked over and saw the signage which I hadnt seen because i hadnt shopped on that side of the store. The box i was carrying was very heavy and it would have been nice to know where the line for checkout was supposed to form. Having the signs faced so that you could see them from the west side of the building would be helpful to customers. Or markings on the ground, or hanging signs. The employees were rather disheartened seeming and pricing felt steep for being a bulk store. I think this store should work on its...
