The only person that talked to us was in the parking lot. Almost all the parking is reserved, so driving around for 5 minutes, we just parked across the street and walked over.
We sat in line for about 5-10 minutes behind a family, they were greeted and seated. After, a few more minutes a couple stood behind us, and they were greeted and told, "It's serve serve seating". They were about to cut us but the person I was with walked towards a table after hearing that.
We sat at a table for about 15-20 minutes without ever even being acknowledged. The table next to us had 2 friends with food, and I heard them say, "It's probably going to be another 15 minutes before I get my food."
I went there hoping to try the food. Many of the reviews said the food was good, and service was slow. Even going there with the expectation that it would be slow, that was a bit ridiculous. I can't speak for the food since I never even had a waitress speak with me. I ended up walking out, since another couple that had been there before us walked out as well.
The most frustrating part of the experience was going to my car and wanting to leave this review. When I tried to review it from my phone, it said I had no name??? Not sure why I couldn't review, but had to do it from a computer.
I always try to avoid giving a negative review, but in this case felt it may be helpful to anyone else. As a couple, we had enough time to read the reviews while waiting more in depth and was surprised after seeing people walking out, there weren't more reviews like this.
I'm sure the food was good, since it looked great. We just never got a chance...
Read moreMy partner and I were trying to find something close to home with a simple menu at a reasonable price. Here's were Rendition comes in. We checked the menu online and decided this was for us.
Walking in the place was very clean, had a great ambiance and smiling customers. We were hopeful. We got our menus and drinks fairly quickly. Wait staff was smiling and friendly.
The food was the issue for us though. We ordered the duck fat fries and the Mac and cheese for apps. The fries were great but the Mac and cheese was severely lacking. Mostly salt. There was none. At all. The sauce coagulated. The noodles weren't cooked all the way. My kids Velveeta Mac and cheese cups tasted better than this.
I ordered the Hanger steak medium rare and vegetables. My steak was barely cooked. Incredibly rare. I wasnt too miffed as I don't mind a rare steak but still not even close to what I wanted. The bordelaise left a lot to be desired. Again, none of my plate seemed to be cooked with any kind of salt.
My partner got the Caesar with flank steak. She didn't get a flank steak. It was also hanger. She ordered medium rare and got a steak that was still purple in the middle and mooing at her with every bite. Not even warm in the middle. They also didn't use the proper lettuce. No romaine. It was iceberg and basically was a floppy mess when she was trying to eat it.
It was a major let down. The staff seemed lovely. The fries were great, my vegetables were okay but overall the experience was...
Read moreI’m not one to complain but here I go.. my food came out literally cold to the touch, hanger steak w veggies, our server was MIA so flagged down the manager who was at least visible, she agreed the food was cold and the steak cooked wrong so she replaced it with a satisfactory dish. Through all of this, the original food being delivered, a replacement, finished food, empty drinks, never saw the server again, I finally flagged the manager down again to let her know that the server had not been to our table in at least 45 minutes and we were ready for our check. She then went and got the server to bring it which created an awkward situation with her claiming she thought the manager was taking care of us. We also ordered another dish that was never started so we cancelled it and paid the bill. It broke my heart to give a pity tip of 10 dollars on an over 100 dollar check, didn’t want server to lose money because I know back house gets part of the tip. Paid the bill, walked over to the bar, ordered a drink to take to the room and tipped the bartender 25% on her 2 minutes of service. I would never choose this restaurant. I appreciate good service and take pride in tipping well for it. I can also accept being short staffed and service being slow but it was nonexistent. The most awkward experience I’ve...
