Came for Christmas service tonight started off great the trolley driver was very nice, got to the door my mother and sister walked in the door and a lady was behind them the lady stopped to let me go because she noticed they were my family and once I get through the door that the greeter opened he says “don’t you have any manners can’t you see there’s a lady right there” I let it go and keep walking he gives the lady her service sheet and then turns to my mom and says “ Can I teach your son some manners real quick” very disrespectful concidering I don’t have a father in my life and anyone who knows me can vouch for my manners I open doors for everyone including men. The thing that really makes me angry is that judgmental people like that man are what keep people from the glory of our god. People have interactions with people like him after being forced to go to church and don’t ever want to get to know Jesus because of the example of his “followers” they have been shown. My family also got dirty looks from many many people which im assuming is because we were wearing jeans and dress shirts instead of being in tux’s like everyone else. We proceeded to leave because this is not what Jesus had his intestines hanging out on a cross for. The gospel is for all people not just the ones who can afford nice clothes. If you are a follower of Christ concider how you portray yourself because people will use you as an example of our glorious god and that example can lead people to eternal suffering. I’m sure this church has many great members the pastor seemed like a good one but the members of this church that I witnessed make it ungodly. apparently we aren’t the only ones that have experienced this type of treatment. and to the door greeter be glad I have jesus in my heart because if someone came in there that didn’t know god and you disrespected them the way you did me you might be met with a fist to the face. God bless all and remember to follow christ and...
Read moreI can’t say much about the church itself but the basketball league I will say isn’t fairly great. It’s fun to watch when it goes accordingly but that’s not often as of this summer. We recently had an incident where a child put his hands on a players neck and walked him. Before then that same player kept grabbing on people shirts and pulling them which refs never called but instead let continue. Once that kid officially put his hands on the players neck the refs decide to call it since it became physical. Overall the refs do not take accountability or action before it gets aggressive and physical. Once that altercation occurred refs Eddie and another ref had a great input to put in saying the player who was the one “attacked” was the issue. We now have been told the boys who kept being pushed through the season can’t play moving forward but the boy putting his hands on people will continue. Zac has been doing great at his job i will say but it’s sad that he has to go based on what “he saw” when let’s be real they don’t ever see anything cause the refs are the only ones there. Refs need to step it up a tad bit more and stop picking and choosing, especially when this is...
Read moreI just read the last review and I must say I disagree. This is an event my young family enjoys attending every year. We had a completely different experience. My family also attended the event October 29th and we were greeted with smiling faces and handshakes before we walked through the door. The only time the question came up about how we learned about the event was when we signed in on a name card. There were many games to play for all ages, including toddler games in an enclosed room specifically for young children. Most of the games were managed by young teenagers, whom all seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. A large assortment of candy was available and children were allowed to choose which candy they wanted at each game station. I also witnessed children enjoying the bounce houses. They were very carefully managed, ensuring that young children could safely bounce with other small children and older kids could bounce with bigger kids. The church also had rooms for painting pumpkins and building Minecraft-type structures. There was plenty of fun to be had by all. Just a reminder, this is a free event funded by...
