Bad service, bad food, too expensive! Went with a large party (15 adults/2 kids). We were separated by two tables. Our #1 table had drinks before we were asked at table #2. Table 1 received appetizers before we received our drinks. Our drinks finally arrived at table 2 and table 1 was already receiving their main meal. Finally table 2 received appetizers (not ALL of them) while table 1 was finishing with their meal..Finally after a long wait time we received our main meals. Me personally, I didn't receive my appetizers even after being told 4 times they were on the way. At the end of the meals, I was told my appetizer would be removed from my check. One of our other patrons never received her sides and only $2 was removed from her tab. My check was rung up at the register wrong. Then they tried to run my card through for the correct amount 5 TIMES!! This locked my card from making any purchases and the fraud dept from my bank called me due to this. The incorrect amount has not been dropped off of my account after 2 days. Its still pending in my account. The food was over priced. 2 of us ordered a strawberry lime aid cocktail, no strawberry flavor at all. It was so tart we struggled to drink it.The steaks were tough and shrimp was over cooked and tough to peel and rubbery to eat. Based on the reviews we decided to come here. We were extremely disappointed. it. You can try it out yourself, but we were not happy when we left. Read great reviews of the place so we decided to try it. We were leery of what it would end up being when we drove up and saw the entrance but went in anyways. Once we got inside it was a rustic pub atmosphere. Nice. The server we had, she literally ran her butt off. She was the only one working besides the bartender. He was talking to one of the few customers there at the time and just standing around and we told her how she was doing a great job juggling everything and he then started working more lol. She helped us decide and took our orders. I didn’t like the drink I chose, mind you I haven’t drank in years so I forgot what I liked lol, so she got me a different drink and didn’t charge me for the one I didn’t want. I’d have paid for it, I didn’t ask her to do that and I just asked for something else, so that was nice of her. Our food came out AMAZING. I mean incredible. I got the fried shrimp as my appetizer and they were gigantic lol. My burger was great and fries were as well. Only thing we noticed is every restaurant in va beach area was very salty. Not used to that. But it was amazing food and we ordered numerous things. Great service. Price was great for the area and for what we got. I highly recommend them! Pretty sure the girls name was either Stacy or Michelle and I feel bad that I forget it now but we were there last month so it’s been a bit lol. Great hometown local atmosphere with really good food. I have had several items on the menu and some of the specials, but the meatloaf is as good as Grandma's. I would say this place is perfect if it weren't for that Stanley guy who steals cigarettes, bottle caps, and shots when your not looking. Plus, that dude is always clamoring about "mountain music" and something about Marge and Deb in the bath tub. What?!?

I get having regulars who are quirky, but this guy is a regular roadside show novelty that should get a quarter every time he shares his "insights" on world events or sports. There should be a banner outside advertising "Come in and see the Smoking Bar Stool Monkey. You can shake his hand and pet his Brillo like hair". The kids will be scared, but the 60+ ladies crowd will love it!!! Additionally, NO ONE credible roots for Buffalo and then brags about it year after year of losing seasons. Get real man!
