Edit - I just went to this store on 1Sep2025 and the store employees, in anticipation of the new Spider-Man (Spiderverse) Collectible Minifigure sets release on that date, had two full displays right by the registers, but in addition, if you asked, they had separated out the "separate 12 minifigs" for people who don't enjoy the blind box retail method. This store is always amazing with incredible employees, yesterday it was Ethan who assisted me at the register when i was ready to check out.

(OG review)I've been to this store too many times to count since their opening day, on 1Dec2023. I am what's known as an AFOL, An Adult Fan of LEGO. Before this store opened in Virginia Beach Town Center, near the fountain and California Pizza Kitchen (blue parking building), i traveled to the Tysons Corner store quite a bit. Now, Hampton Roads has their own slice of heaven.

Not a particularly large store, they are nevertheless filled floor to ceiling with the newest and most popular LEGO sets ranging from the gorgeous botanical liner, technic type sports cars and even a technic like submarine for only $39.99. I even got to play with it the other day in the store and immediately thereafter purchased it.

The store carries the Icons sets, Ideas sets, the new Formula 1 Speed Racers (if you wait until 1March the line doubles in size), Harry Potter, Friends, Marvel, Disney, Star Wars, Ninjago and more! Become a LEGO Insider and you earn points to purchase exclusive LEGO sets and items from their website. The points you earn can even be converted to cash to use in store and online.

(LEGO and Target no longer partner together in this program - updates 2025 review)A side note about LEGO Insiders. Target has partnered with The LEGO Group so you can earn the same points for Target LEGO purchases that you would in store and online. The website explains it.

Finally, I have to give a shout out to Tony. EVERY single employee is beyond awesome but the other day I was looking for a certain set, he confirmed they had it and held it behind the desk. I was there in 10 minutes. I don't know how long they hold items, and if they do it on release days, but I would imagine they do not. This store by far is worth the trip just for the experience.

And i must not forget the in-store build a minifig station with multiple parts etching enables each customer to build their own custom minifig on parts that get swapped out each quarter. In addition, the Pick-a-Brick Wall is a means to buy certain LEGO pieces in bulk, paying for a small box (packed any way you would like), or a large box (packed any way you - parts dump or tetris master, your choice). I hope to run into you there....

This is a smaller store compared to some others. The pick a brick selection is very depressing. You're better off going on the website to order what you need.

They keep the shelves full and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

Downside are the customers and layout. Most of the adult sets are in the back and you have to dodge people just standing in the middle of the walkways not being considerate of others. The worst place in the store is the Lego figure building area. They really need to move it to the middle so customers can get around the crowd. Other negative is the parking. It's by chance to get a curb spot. Better off going into the blue parking garage. The Lego store is on that building. Depending which door you come out of, you may have to walk around the block or you pop out right there...

It is great to have a LEGO store in the area rather than driving three hours to Potomac Mills. The store is well stocked with products and the staff is very friendly and personable. Patrick in particular was great. The shop does have a very small footprint, but they have it laid out in a way that makes it easy to find what you are searching for in store. The Pick-A-Brick wall is tiny and that space would be better served with more product if the wall was not synonymous with LEGO stores. We waited for about three hours today (Nov. 3, 2023) to enter and ended up not making a purchase since the sets we wanted were not in stock. However, the staff did inform us that there would be more coming on Monday. It is so exciting to have a LEGO shop of our own and we look forward to many fun trips...

So excited to have a local store. The staff was so amazing during the crazy opening weekend. Every staff member I spoke with was so nice and very willing to help. Loved the free gifts for opening weekend!!! My oldest has been building legos during their 5 day break feom school. Can't wait to go back and will defintely be a store frequenter. My parents stopped in on Saturday and met the GM Carlos, then came back on Sunday and he remembered them and came over to say hi. Honestly that is super impressive considering how many people came through the store opening weekend.
