This afternoon I went back to the store to inform them that I was overcharged for the purchases I made yesterday. I presented the store manager with the receipt along with the items and their price tags (the receipt clearly showing that one extra item was charged). The store manager was very rude, defensive and argumentative when I tried to explain that the cashier mistakenly charged me an extra item. She said I could only get store credit and she wasn’t even willing to issue it to me. She said I had to return the next day so that the original cashier who rang me up will be the one to issue the store credit. I get overcharged due to their error and they expect me to spend more time and gas money to return to their store yet again for only a store credit instead of my rightful money back. Discovered this place a few months ago, been going every couple weeks. pros: clean with good quality items, free 1 hour parking across the street, good cause. cons: they cant seem to get their point of sale working right, always seem to have a problem with their "loyalty" system, i encounter "issues" each time i check out. was cool with it but until recently was blatantly told by the cashier that it's my fault because i'm not punching my phone number correctly. i respect these volunteers but they really need some training on dealing with a variety of customers....

The American Cancer society Discovery Shop in Walnut Creek is the cleanest most well-maintained and curated thrift boutique I have ever been in. The items are high quality desirable and price to sell. The manager does an amazing job with the visuals and displays and Donna, the sales associate is absolutely delightful. She is very knowledgeable and helpful, I always make a point of stopping here whenever I'm in the Walnut Creek area. Also, don't forget to sign into the loyalty program every time.
