We are traveling from Florida. I wasn't prepared for snow hiking in the Grand Canyon and winter storm Uri kept dropping it. We walked into the shop to check out boots so my feet wouldn't get wet at the Grand Canyon. Instead of selling me a pair of hiking shoes, which weren't water proof, for $100, he had us pause for a moment.
He told me honestly that the trails would only have a little snow at the top and trails might be wet. He said he had hiked in these conditions in a pair of running shoes. He looked at the tread on my sketchers and suggested that I buy a couple pair of good socks instead. That way if my shoes get damp, I have socks.

A day later I receive a call from the owner stating his employee had accidentally overcharged me for the licenses. I couldn't believe someone would be that honest!
