This place is awesome! It's right on the main drag in town. The restaurant itself is one giant room and has a really interesting western Decour. Chips and salsa are $3.99, but well worth it! You get a heaping basket of fresh and thick tortilla chips. The salsa is delicious and has a little bit of a kick with chopped up jalapeños. I ordered the Chile Rellano meal. It comes with a side of rice and beans, and soup of the day. The soup was delicious! It was tomato-based broth with veggies and thin spaghetti type of noodles. The rice and beans were almost so really good. You can tell that the beans are homemade and cooked with a ham hock, as they have a very smoky meaty flavor. The rice is also very flavorful, which is unusual for a lot of restaurants. My chili Riano was amazing! It's huge as it's made with a poblano pepper. It's stuffed full of stringy white cheese , Covered with a light breading and smothered in their homemade red sauce. It Also has a bit of a kick. My husband ordered the soft chicken tacos which also came with all of the sides. He said they were really good, I liked the fact that the chicken was very lightly seasoned. It appears to be family run, and the service was impeccable. They were pretty busy but still got us our chips and food right away! If you are in town I would highly recommend this family owned restaurant. You will not be...
Read moreGreat food & EXCELLENT service!!! My husband & I have enjoyed El Corral for the last few years. We're from Tucson so we don't get to visit as often as we'd like. One of our absolute favorite items is the pulled pork sandwich. Today we stopped for breakfast & had the chicken fried steak, one with country gravy & one with the green chili gravy. Everything was delicious! They're very accomodating (putting the gravy in a bowl on the side & offering a hotter salsa if we wanted) & the food was so good I had to ask for the rest of mine to go because I didn't want to miss a bite of it! Everyone is super friendly - a rarity in this day & age. We have taken our friends & family & everyone has had nothing but compliments. I realize this is a long review but El Corral is worth it! I'm hoping to go again before heading back to Tucson!
This was my 1st review on El Corral 4 years ago...... Excellent bbq pulled pork sandwich! My husband & I have eaten here twice & one of us got this sandwich each time while the other tried the patty melt or the tacos. Everything was good but the bbq pork sandwich was fantastic! They also have exceptionally good onion rings. The waitress was attentive & she & the chef were both friendly....
Read moreMy son and I chose El Corral off a recommendation from a local hotel. There are 7 tables; 3 for larger groups, 3 appropriate for groups of 4 or less and 1 table for 2. The entrance is directly in the middle of the dining room, so every time it opens, the tables on the right side get a blast of cold or hot air depending on the weather. The staff apparently believe it to be an honor for you to dine in their facility. They were rude to my son and I as well as everyone dining that evening. My son had a special of the day, I had barbecue pork, at the recommendation of the waiter. Both our entrees were $16. My son's special came out as 4 shrimp, rolled in a soft tortilla with white cheese sauce drizzled over it. My pork was both tasteless and dry. Our beers were $5 a piece. I paid $49 for one of the worst meals that I have ever had...anywhere. But, when the cost is considered, it is the worst meal that I have ever had.
This establishment is a high cost, low quality restaurant. It was my complete displeasure to have chosen this place. When in Williams, Az., and you want to enjoy some Mexican food, don't pick El Corral, unless you want a tasteless disappointing expensive...
