Very disappointed with our stay back in April 2019. I realize that this house was built 100 years ago but everything else doesn't have to be kept old, stained and worn out... like the towels, carpet, mattress and the bedding. The bathroom smelled like mildew and the water pressure and tempeture was not impressive. The flooring and stairs creaked so much that I thought we might break through the flooring. The breakfast was not appealing what so ever so we decided to eat at a local restaurant instead. The only positives were that it was centrally located, nice pine tree in front with a cute baby buffalo figure, and it was easy to check-in/out. However, I would not stay at this inn again.

Arrived Friday evening and everything was ready including the fireplace heater on - it was a cold night. Shower was hot with plenty of flow. Tv with DirectTV. Nice history furnishings and flagstone highlights. Was greeted by the host with a hug. Thank you for a great stay. Plan to come back.

If I could give this place a zero, I wouldn't hesitate. This is hands down the worst experience I have ever had at an inn. To start, we got in and there was an envelope with our name on it with the key, we were never formally checked in. There was a bolt lock on the outside of our door leading to the lobby, which was pretty unusual. They had a 20" Mitsubishi tube tv that didn't even work. On our reservation, we selected the option "extra bed/crib" and we put in the options that we have a child at the age of 0 years old. In the room, we had a queen size bed and a rollaway single bed folded in front of the only sink. Our 10 month old daughter had to "sleep" between us on a queen size bed. Now you have to realize, I am a woman at 6ft and a man at 6'2". We are not small people. My daughter is 10 months old, wearing 18 month clothes comfortably. So when I say we "slept" I mean we didn't sleep at all. We had a crying baby and all three of us were very uncomfortable. In the morning, we requested that our two night stay be refunded for a one night stay, considering we were under the impression that we would have a crib and we didn't. Well this is where the nightmare really started. The woman who worked there was pretty rude about it. Made a comment about how they've never had a crib and asked if the baby slept on the rollaway bed. This woman asked if a 10 month old baby slept on a bed by herself. This is not only illogical but it's ignorant. We had to call the owner. The owner said she would look at the website and let us know if she would charge us for the night we wouldn't be staying there. She never called us back, she responded rudely to a text, and wouldn't answer our phone calls. We had the woman who worked there call her, the owner answered right away; argued with the woman who worked there and decided that she would not refund us. We were charged for two nights, in at an outdated, dirty, and poorly ran Inn. No working tv, no crib as promised, and terrible owners who do not care for the guests that stay there. This situation could have been handled differently, we weren't asking for a full refund, we weren't asking for them to credit us. We only wanted them to take off the charge for the second night that we were not going to...

At arrival there was an envelope with my name on which had the key for my room. We arrived later on the evening (9pm) so having no one at the reception was fine. We went into our room, which was old, broken, worn out and in general not a nice place to stay. WIFI was not reliable, only worked very close to the door, otherwise the signal was too weak (internet speed was very slow). We tried with 3 mobile phones and a laptop and working in IT for over 15 years I can comfortably say, the WIFI network was absolutely rubbish. Our room (Room 3) was accessible through the kitchen, so after arrival we heard some people talking in front of our door, we went out to see if it is anyone from the reception. (I wanted to ask about the WIFI). It turned out to be there were other guests as well, looking around. They arrived hours earlier however there was no one at the property either. Their TV did not work, and their room was similarly bad. They were shocked by the state of the property. It was such a strange feeling that guests were walking around in a hotel/motel where no staff were present and shared their bad experiences upon arrival. When we went to sleep I could hear someone was doing the dishes (or doing something similar) in the kitchen for a long time, I was about to go out and ask them to be quiet, so we could sleep - as my 4 year old could not fall asleep because of that. By that time, the noise has stopped. The next day, we went out for breakfast, it was said between 7-9, but when we went there around 8am there was just basic breads and butter and orange juice etc put out on a table. A bit later a woman came (receptionist?) and started making some egg but it took absolutely AGES. She did not say a word to us, did not mention she is making eggs, we found out because we saw here doing that. I had the feeling she was deliberately delaying it so we would leave before it is done. After breakfast we left as fast as we could, I had to pay for the room - as it was not yet done - and paid for the same lady at the reception desk. If I could give ZERO stars for this place I would. Dirty, old, broken rooms and chairs, disgusting bathroom and "delayed" breakfast, with pretty much no internet. Horrible place, would not recommend...

Pros:

Location is great, walking distance to everything in the town. Lots of bars, restaurants, shops and service station near by. WiFi worked relatively well. No issue parking out front or around the side. Lady who checked us in was friendly

Cons:

Small rooms. Main lights in room didn't work, lamps were fine. Basic shower which took a while to heat up Very basic breakfast which included Coffee, toast and pastries. Thin walls, you will hear noise if other people are noisy. Bed was ok in terms of comfort.

Overall it wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad at all. It did exactly what we needed which was a basic one night stay so we could drive to the Grand Canyon park early the next morning.

I did overhear a couple who turned up late at night to check in only to find out their booking was cancelled without their knowledge. They were very upset and sat outside calling every hotel and Inn in the town for over an hour. So perhaps be cautious and double check your booking is confirmed directly...
