We booked as the Westener Motel, but it turns out it's now part of the Motel 6. Check the basically same bad reviews of that one too... The young guy at the office was absolutely rude and offered no help at all. We wanted to talk to the manager, but he refused to let us get in contact. When I asked for his name he refused to answer. No WiFi reception at the old part of the hotel. The room was dirty, towels were old/worn and the room smelled stale. Avoid if you can... When asked if we could switch rooms due to no WIFI, which I need for work, he just said no, pressing on he said they were fully booked. See the picture... right...

Great location! The front desk guy was really nice. They do not allow pets so he had to check with the owner to make sure our service dog was okay but we still got checked in quickly. The room was clean but was missing a few things. It seemed like it had been cleaned but not replenished paper coffee cups, and coffee packets, extra roll of toilet paper). The front desk had everything we needed though. The mattress was okay, felt kinda old. I would stay there again! Also, it snowed a lot and the view was great!

Oh my! A step away from the fast lane and speaking of steps, watch that step out of the room. No carpet, very few plug-ins, and the internet was slower than my aging self. Dial up speed slow! So why a 4? Very clean, very nice bed and it's on Route 66!!!

Typical 2 star motel on old Route 66. Owner and family staff were very pleasant, rooms were basic, beds and sheets were clean. However, there were some issues. One of our group had problems on the road and was unable to make the check in time and was unable to cancel their room by the deadline because they could not reach anyone on the motel phone or answering service. Later when questioned about this the staff said there is no one to answer the phone in the morning and then they get busy and they just don’t answer. The recorded message on the service says to make changes or cancel you must talk directly to the motel staff. Nice Catch 22. We knew there would be a cancellation penalty for missing the deadline but were unprepared that the penalty would be for the entire weekend stay, not just for the first night. After paying for the entire weekend stay as a penalty the hotel requested to keep the room key so that they could rebook the room. I requested the key as it was hoped that our friend would in fact still get his car repaired and get to the hotel at a later time. The hotel owner did follow up on one occasion to see if she could rebook the room but our friend did finally arrive. I thought this was bad form all around. The second issue was that in this day and age every motel should have 110v outlets available with plenty of power strips conveniently located in the rooms for charging personal electronic devices. In our room there was only one 110v receptacle that wasn’t fully used by motel equipment and it was so old and worn out that phone chargers would just fall out of the sockets. The receptacle was unusable. We finally found a receptacle over the mirror in the bathroom that we could use by unplugging the hairdryer but had to leave the bathroom lights on all night so that it would remain powered. There were no USB ports in the room. These are basic maintenance items. Also, the motel had no ice machine. Maybe this is a minor inconvenience with a grocery store across the street but with a major event in town the store was sold out of ice within the first day of the weekend. So having ice for your guests would have been a plus, especially in June in Arizona. Lastly due to the event the motel appears to have raised their nightly rates significantly. It’s not inappropriate for them to do so just be aware that they are doing it when you...

Well I along with 3 other guys had issues with our booking.com reservations not showing up. Now this may not have been such an issue if an ADULT was working. I'm wondering if Arizona doesn't have child labor laws, or curfews. Or nobody has called child services on this family??? The only person to help was a 15 year old girl who had to go get help from a different motel. This was at 9 pm!!! He kept telling her to do whatever she wanted. I should have done what the boys did. Instead I got a room with the motel since my confirmation wasn't showing up on their end. The next day at 6:30 am I found out I was double charged... then the only one to help the next morning was this same 15 yr old girl.

Come to find out from maintenance, housekeeping, and an adult, said motel 6 just boght the place that the same day I booked my room, the ones who own motel 6 bought over this place and are going to change this motel to motel 6. But nobody thought about the 3rd party companies that book. I'm not the only one running into this issue I was told by the adult at motel 6. Didn't make me feel better and I spent 2 hours of my morning with my bank, motel 6 (because they live at motel 6 so they aren't in this motel office) and booking.com. So don't use any 3rd party company.

2 months later I still have yet to see a refund from my double charge!

The lady I talked to was very nice and helpful. The kid was nice but clueless. It's SO wrong they have her running everything. I guess us 4 with issues were caught in cross fire of just changing over. It sucks. The motel itself was very clean inside the room. Nice bigger flat screen TV, microwave, and mini fridge. Desk and chair. Nothing fancy. Some would complain it's outdated, but I could care less what kind of certains and bedspread there is. As long as it's clean I'm good!

My biggest complaint besides having a kid run the place is there is NO wifi. There is a log in which doesn't work with the password. I had to try 4 different logins with the password. Once I was connected, it ran as slow as dial up. So it was better to disconnect and run off of mobile data. My phone just kept circling on their wifi. The other staff they had housekeeping and maintenance were wonderful friendly people. Seemed clean and safe outside. Maybe once the changes are made and kinks worked out, this will be...

I wouldn’t even give this place one star! My husband and I had a booking through Hotels.com at the westerner, due to family circumstances we had to cancel our booking. We contacted the motel and we’re told to contact the place we booked through (the owner Nina was telling the employee that was speaking with my husband on the phone what to say the entire time, finally the employee asked for the owner to just speak with us themselves, but the owner refused to do so), we did then call hotels.com and they informed us that they would try to contact the westerner motel for us. They emailed us a few days later saying they were unable to reach the motel and that in order for us to get a refund we would need to call the motel directly. We called the westerner again and the first time my husband asked to speak with the owner of the hotel and we were hung up on, we called back and there was no answer. The next day we called again and the phone was answered by the one of the owners who said he was Nina’s husband. We asked about getting a refund and told him that Hotels.com said that all that they needed to do was reverse the reservation on their end, he then responded “well they are telling you bulls”. My husband went on to say that we are frustrated with the whole thing and the owner went on to say (and this is a direct quote) “f you, I don’t care about anything you have to say, f* you”. I am absolutely shocked and disgusted at the way that the owner spoke to my husband. Not once did my husband say anything rude or disrespectful or use any profanity, and the owner would only respond with rudeness and profanity towards my husband. I would not recommend anyone...
