Offensive service and not something I experienced elsewhere at other restaurants in Yerevan. Service was a bit of a mess and no clear organization. I was a walk-in and was told I’d have to wait for them to check if there was a table available. 15 minutes later I was told there was a table for me upstairs. I was expecting to follow the host up but awkwardly saw she was not moving so I assumed I had to walk upstairs myself without any guidance.
A second person upstairs then led me to my table. I tried to order with one guy then another girl came to the table and I had to repeat my order again. I had tried to order a main course but was told it’d be too big for one person. I was a bit confused and the waitress rudely told me to look at the menu again and choose something else. I tried to ask her what main courses could be for one person but she told me she could not. With attitude, she told me I could order what I wanted but I wouldn’t be able to finish it. I asked again if she could point out the things that were family size but I am not sure if she did not understand or what. She told me that I should look at the menu by myself and that she’d come back later to tell me if I could or could not order something for one person.
I then asked to speak to someone else who had better English to explain to me the situation. Another waiter comes and nicely explains to me what she was trying to say. Great! Except then he asks me where I’m from. I say America but then he asks for my ethnicity. When I say again I’m from America, he again prompts me for my ethnicity. “Korea? Japan?” He says. Again, not something I regularly experienced while in Yerevan.
The soup I ordered came lukewarm and almost cold. The pumpkin dish I was suggested was relatively good - but difficult to appreciate after being a bit traumatized by...
Read moreFirst of all it is very hard to get a table. Yesterday i didn't get a table, today i had to wait and reserve, and here is what happened: 1- i gave my number so in case there is a table empty they call me. And they said you have to wait until 10:30pm. At 10pm i passed again and there were 2 empty tables but no one called me. When i asked they said yes you can sit. 2- the order was smooth. But in the middle when i wanted to order something else, it was very hard to get the attention of the waiters , and they are not proactive at all. (Some of them are nice but not proactive).
3- when i ordered dessert, the waiter cut the millefeuille in an angry way, amd also another sweet , then just left leaving everything at the edge of the table without saying a word. I honestly thought she forgot something and she went to bring it.
I really felt very Ignored and not comfortable at all.
I am really disappointed after i have been waiting for 2 days. And by the way the food was okay, like not good in a crazy way to make people wait in lines or make reservations, i don't know what's wrong with people , they gave me the feeling that i will eat something out of this world, while it's just normal food that you can get in any...
Read moreWe went for dinner on a Friday night. As usual, the restaurant was busy with guests. At the entrance, we met the hostess and requested for a table for two. The hostess was quick to respond that we’re full and I cannot guarantee a table at the moment. Fair as the patio was full and we told her we don’t mind to wait. She again tried to push us away by mentioning 40-50 mins wait time & however we’d made our mind to dine at this beautiful place. Less than 2 minutes into the wait time, we were asked to enter the restaurant and they were 30-35% open tables on the 1st floor. Left us appalled as it showed the hostess at the front was least interested to seat us with a table. Never mind, she must’ve had a bad day. The waiter however was super friendly and gave us the best service. We ordered the below dishes - • Walnut Paste & Bread Basket - 4.5/5 • Kovsakan Salad - 4.5/5 (Medley of Beef strips & julienne peppers) • Lamb Khurjin - 5/5 (Super tender pieces of lamb cooked to perfection inside a lavash bread) • Dolma - 4/5
We so badly wanted to try the Mille-Feuille but were damn full. Good overall experience. If you gotta wait, the food is actually worth the wait...
