A hidden gem in Brisbane, and a must-do for both locals and travellers alike. Head down the alleyway next to the Irish pub on the corner, and look left to the open door leading to the basement level bar, and you're in for an absolute treat.

Whether you're well acquainted with amaro (their specialty) or trying something new, between their cocktails, the liqueurs available, and some more familiar wines and beers and spirits, you really can't go wrong.

The team are polite, professional, and welcoming, with excellent knowledge of their offerings and what to pair them with or what might suit a particular palate.

The bar itself is comfortable, with a range of low-slung leather couches and chairs up the back, high tables scattered through the main area, and some bar-side seats for those wanting to watch the team work. Exposed brick, candle light, and pleasant tunes make for a perfect post-work retreat, an intimate date night, or a place to gather with a few friends for a well-deserved indulgence.

I can highly recommend the Red Redemption (decadently smooth and refreshing) and the Hayfever (the pollen really works well for a mellow sweetness and additional texture to contrast...

I come to this bar regularly with my partner and the service is always consistently great. I'm not one to drop reviews regularly but this one's well overdue. The staff go above and beyond. Aksh, in particular, somehow remembers what we’ve had (and haven’t!) better than we do, which always makes the experience feel that much more personal. Riley is warm, friendly, and makes everyone feel welcome. I brought my parents in recently, and even my dad ( who rarely comments on these things) said Riley was “'kind and informative'.

Also, I just want to add that I read a couple of three star reviews and I was shocked to say the least 😂 Respectfully, are we even talking about the same place? 🧐 As someone who’s tried many cocktails from many versions of their menu over time, I can honestly say they are consistently high quality and curated to perfection.

As much as I want to gatekeep this place, I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for the best and most unique cocktails...

We have been traveling around Australia for the past month exploring the top rated bars and restaurants and this cocktail bar surpasses all of them all! Tamim and Riley became instant friends! They're expertise in all things cocktail and liquor related is exceptional and unmatched. This is a bar you go out of your way to try. Their Amaro list, the smiles, the education and banter is endless! We wish we could have stayed there all night and come back the next night, and the night after that before leaving town.

The thing that separates this bar from every other bar in Australia is, yes the on menu cocktails match the quality and balance of top ranked bars, but with our million questions we threw at them... their off menu drinks and knowledge of any drink you can think of is again - unmatched! Tamim's citrus martini stole our hearts 🍸

Overall, I found this place to be just OK; the cocktails are decent, and the service here is excellent; and I like that it is tucked away and hidden behind an alley (it's not very easy to find, which gives the place a certain allure)! The atmosphere, however, is very basic, and the seating area is rather small/limited with mostly hard wooden seats and only 3 soft couches. I feel like this place has a lot of potential though, especially if they add more decorations to make the atmosphere a bit more interesting and a few more seats with soft, comfortable bottoms. It's not a bad place at all, but I just prefer places like nearby Death & Taxes that offer premium cocktails in a similar low-lit vibe but with a much more interesting atmosphere and soft seats at the bar.

A wonderful hidden gem in Brisbane CBD. Located down a little alleyway, Before + After provides a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, with in warm dim lights and comfy couches. The perfect place to unwind, sip delicious cocktails and enjoy the company of freinds. Riley did an amazing job helping us choose our desired cocktails. His wealth of knowledge and attentiveness was a standout. . Cocktails I chose were "Hay Fever", a delicious well balanced take on the whisky sour. Citrus forward, subtle smokey notes and a hint of honey. The other, a take on the old fashion, with flavours of dates and Christmas pudding. Will definitely come back.
