Read moreVery disappointed with the customer service. We travelled all the way from Springfield Central to West End just for this restaurant (I guess you can not trust high ratings all the time!)
Upon arrival, the atmosphere of the restaurant was dull, empty and lifeless (other than the flies it had indoors). We were also not greeted nor allocated a seat. We helped ourselves to a table and some guy got us water and menu. (The glasses were not clean and had food stains to it).
While we were deciding our food orders the guy serving us was using a toothpick right in front of us (not a very hygienic start to ordering). Then when we asked for vegetarian options as two of my friends are vegetarian the guy serving us said that they haven’t made vegetarian biryani’s in a while and they would not be able to make vegetarian biryani (THE RESTAURANT NAME IS LITERALLY THE BIRYANI PALACE and they have Vegetarian Biryani on their menu). I asked if they have ingredients (such as Paneer) to make a vegetarian biryani and the guy said they do but they can not make Vegetarian Biryani.
This was absolutely disappointing. We are absolutely not coming here again. I hope the owner sees this and takes this feedback into consideration. We unfortunately will not be returning to see if there’s improvements done.
The Punjabi Palace is just down the corner and it had better options and food quality and customer service...
Read moreWhen I went to order Chicken Tikka Masala here the waiter asked me what level of spiciness I wanted. Before I even said 'hot', which I was going to say as I really enjoy spicy food and always get 'hot' everywhere I go the waiter had profiled me and interrupted me saying 'mild'. I laughed it off and said no I want hot, to which the waiter replied suggesting medium. I then told him make it hot sure maybe not as hot as you would make for an Indian but please make it hot.
The food came out. It was incredibly average mainly because it barely had any spice in it, and was MUCH MUCH more mild than how I like my curry. I get I am white. I get a lot of white people don't eat spicy food typically. But when I have asked the waiter for hot, and emphasised to him in multiple comments that I want hot. How hard can it be to actually listen to me and respect my wishes?
The waiter was a skinny Indian man probably about 6'1". Should've got his name because it really was awful customer service and I shall not be back, as there are plenty of other Indian restaurants that will not profile me as you did and will give me 'hot' food when I ask for it.
Very...
