A pleasant little café in the South Bank dining precinct on Little Stanley Street, amongst a cluster of dozens of other eateries, bars, coffee joints etc. This area is a hive of activity, with a fun, lively and energetic vibe. Despite the large number of places around here, we struggled to find one where we could just get coffees and light snacks at a reasonable price, but luckily we stumbled on Denim Co which fitted the bill perfectly. We ordered open sandwiches, toasted sandwiches and coffees. It was all fresh and tasty, neatly prepared and with decent serving sizes. In a nice touch, they added a small packet of cheese and onion chips to my toasted sandwich. Service is friendly, polite and efficient and it’s relaxing just sitting outdoors on their plastic and steel, brightly coloured teal furniture, enjoying the food and drink, while watching the passing parade up and down Lt Stan Street. Being an outdoors café, there are no toilets on site, but the public ones are just a few minutes walk away, behind the swimming pool. The only downside to all this positivity, is the disaster that has engulfed not only the South Bris precinct, where this caf is located, but virtually the whole Bris C.B.D., with ongoing, interminable construction everywhere that has created a chaotic, messy, dirty, dusty city, that is super difficult for pedestrians to navigate. There seems to be no end to it. I feel sorry for many of the business owners around here, especially the ground floor restaurateurs, like Denim Co, who are forced to endure this unending nightmare. Shame on the state govt or the local council or whoever is responsible for this shemozzle.

With less communication of the customers request and rude attitudes. Very not recommended. Update: The fact is that when the surrounding cafes receive their customers, polite inquiry in the same way is licensed. And most of the respondents were very happy and serious about completing the questionnaire on the sustainability of the coffee industry. I don't know as a consumer, the waiter is very unreasonable and high-minded in what to say and what is reasonable. Later, through the visits and comparisons of similar coffee shops around, I think there is a reason for this coffee shop in the prime time of the afternoon. I will use research and papers to explain what I have encountered in this coffee shop, and remind friends who live on the South Bank about the behavior of this coffee shop to ensure that they are not as rude as I am when they consume coffee. Treatment. In addition, the store's reply makes people feel extremely ridiculous, a simple comment from the customer becomes the so-called keyboard man, if a customer even comments on the rights of the merchant he has consumed has become a mockery, then I really don't know the merchant. In what way will be based on the South Bank business circle. LOL.

Tucked along one of the city’s liveliest streets, this café has that buzzing yet relaxed charm that makes it easy to linger a little longer. It’s open later than many nearby spots, which is a real bonus if you’re after a cosy place to unwind in the evening. I went for the chai latte, and it came out in a pot – such a thoughtful touch. You get about two cups’ worth, which makes it perfect for sipping slowly while catching up with a friend or just taking a quiet moment for yourself. The flavour was balanced and aromatic, with just the right mix of spice and sweetness, and it felt like something made with care rather than rushed out. The service matched the quality of the drinks – warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Seating inside is comfortable, with enough space to feel relaxed even when it gets busy, and being right on a popular street means there’s always something to watch if you grab a seat by the window. It’s the kind of spot locals appreciate for its reliability and little details that elevate a simple café visit. Whether you’re after a late-night chai or just a place to soak in the lively atmosphere of the street, this café is definitely worth keeping on your list.

Came in today for a quick lunch, we ordered two drinks (a mocha and a chai latte with almond milk) and two food items. I was very disappointed with the chai latte, it tasted like watered down milk - I could barely taste any chai, aside from what was sprinkled on top. I brought this to the attention of a waitress, who said she was going to add extra chai power and top it up with milk. I do not consider this to be a remake, as the drink was not made again, only added too.

When the drink came out again, I tried it and it tasted worse. At this point, we were ready to leave, so I wanted either a new drink or a refund. I asked the same waiter if it was possible for either of those requests could be fulfilled. She asked me to wait, she was going to check as I had already had some of the drink. Mind you, at this point I had about three sips of this drink, including the original one before the “remake”. She came back and said that they would be able to offer me a 10% discount if I wanted to buy another drink, because I had already drunk it. I was extremely confused by this and asked why I couldn’t just receive a new drink for free or a full refund, and demonstrated that I had only drunk a little and poured what was left back into the serving jug. She asked for me to wait as she was going to ask someone. A more tenured staff member then approached us and explained the same, that we couldn’t get a refund as I had drunk it and they had already remade it. So I could purchase a drink with the discount.

A back and forth then ensued, with me explaining that I did not want to pay for another drink when I hadn’t even drunk much of this one and only wanted another drink - a hot chocolate, which is the same price if not less than the chai. She kept explaining that it was in their policy that they can’t do anymore remakes if they have already touched it and that her manager wouldn’t want her “giving out free drinks”. She then tried saying she wouldn’t do this if she was in my shoes. To which I explained that I am also in hospitality, and I would remake a drink again or offer a refund in this position. After a little more back and forth, she said she would get me a new drink. I asked for a takeaway hot chocolate with almond milk. A huge part of why I’m writing this review is because of the look she gave me while going to complete this request - a look of such annoyance. So unprofessional. She brought me the hot chocolate, I thanked her and she left without saying a word. I could tell by the taste that it was with normal milk and it was in the smallest takeaway cup, but after the whole ordeal I didn’t want to bother having it changed. I’m just glad that I only have an intolerance to dairy and not a full allergy.

As a hospitality worker, I understand the inconvenience - but, I am also a manager, and I wouldn’t want my customers having this experience. I should not have to go through all this hassle for a remake, new drink or a refund. The way the tenured waitress handled this was extremely distasteful and rude. Please ensure your staff know how to handle customers complaints. You’ve lost a customer, we...

Not a good experience!

Positives - nice location and seating area, good variety of options on the menu, friendly staff

Negatives- Quality of food was poor, the Acai bowl had big unpeeled chunks of fruit, the toasting was overpriced at $10.50 and it came with crisps literally there was a small bag of twisties on a plate!

The soft drinks was just provided in a can with no cup or ice offered. The kids apple juice lid was on so tight that I was unable to open it and had to send I back for them to probably get a spanner to open it.

Finally the service was really poor, I ordered a chicken caesar salad, waited 10 mins nothing, 20 mins nothing despite all our other food and drinks having come out. I went back to the counter to enquire and they advised it was in the process of being made, 30 mins still nothing, at 45 mins I had watched 3 chicken casear salads be made and served to patrons on other tables around me with some of those people having come after I had and yet were eating before me. I returned to ask again only to find they had forgotten my order. By this point an hour had passed and everyone at my table had eaten there food and ready to go. A waitress eventually came over and offered to make a caster salad to takeaway at no cost but in my view this was unacceptable and I'm not going to wait for them to stuff it up again so I left hungry and in search of a place that actually serves food in a reasonable time frame. They refunded the salad and we left, never to return again.

Overall, one of the worst eating experiences in terms of service, food quality or...
