Read moreCame here with 4 North indian and Nepali foodie friends, and it ended up to be the best cultural experience I ever had. The Daishain (spelling?) holiday was on and they had a lovely Nepali guy performing popular and traditional Nepali music. We ordered a Batti set, which came with free rice wine, a Chatpate (absolutely delicious) starter, the other set, and a platter of Momo dumplings. I had never had these foods before.
We also ended up dancing with the others to the singers music. I couldn't understand the language, but it didn't matter since their happiness just infected me. By the end of the night I was joking "I have to marry a Nepali girl if they cook like this!" The food is authentic. Split between us, it was $35. What a deal!
Service could be better, as they weren't really monitoring the amount of water left in our jug and not replacing/refilling it. Also, I ordered a coconut mocktail which ended up citrus... Weird...maybe they forgot the coconut ingredient.
This place is now easily in my top 5 places to eat in Brisbane.
Thank you Batti lounge, that was an amazing...

The chicken chow mein smelled strongly of raw oil or uncooked spices, making it inedible. After a few bites, we threw it all away.
I don’t know if this was a one-off or if others have experienced similar issues. Maybe it was a busy night and the kitchen rushed orders, but whatever the cause, we were unlucky to get such poor food.
Within hours, both of us had stomach discomfort and multiple bathroom visits — this was more than bad cooking; it was a serious failure of food service.
We’re deeply disappointed and will never order or dine here again. Management must urgently address...
