If I could I would give it zero stars. My parents ordered the members special (because my parents ordered it the last time they were at the restaurant). But the server didn't know it wasn't available, so the manager came over to let my parents know and to ask them for an alternate order. Which was fine by my mum, however, my dad was in the bathroom at the time, so we had to wait for him to return to be able order (as we wanted the meals to come out at the same time). When he got back to the table, obviously not knowing the situation, he just assumed that the manager could be asking for the member card as that happened last time they were at the food quarter.
So he instinctively opened his wallet to get the card ready. But the manager, with a raised voice said "I don't want your member card I want your order. " My mum replied "excuse me, why are you raising your voice" (mind you, my parents were calm at this point, we were genuinely confused as to why we were being yelled at) and the manager's behaviour came as a shock because it wasn't like we weren't cooperating. My dad just simply didn't know what the context was as he just returned from the bathroom.
Then the manager, named Kayla by the way, continued to say " I am not raising my voice" (while her voice was significantly louder than ours still). It also wasn't busy in the restaurant at the time so there was no need for her to yell out. We told her that there was no problem on our end to order something else since the member menu wasn't available, so there was no need to treat us like that, we were simply waiting for my dad to come back to the table to order alternatives.
After we ordered something else. The manager just walked away, without even apologising. Even when we left the restaurant. There were still no apologies given to us by how we were treated.
It's just disgusting to see that kind of customer service, especially while star casino is struggling to bring customers in. Now I see why. We genuinely just wanted to have a good time, we didn't cause a scene, we were even understandable when they advised us that the members menu wasn't available and even let the server know that it was okay, we understood.
We don't understand why we were treated like that, no customer should be treated like that.
The manager's name was Kayla. I would like someone to contact me about this situation because I honestly felt bad for my parents. We won't be dining here again that's for sure. Another customer lost by the...

Last night, we decided to have dinner at The Food Quarter at Star Casino Brisbane. I ordered the $48 steak and requested that the rocket salad usually included be removed. Instead, I asked for it to be swapped with a garden salad, which was listed at $8.50. The server kindly offered to swap it at no extra charge, and I thanked themâat that point, everything was going well.
One of the reasons we choose to dine out is for the overall experience, and initially, thatâs what we were enjoying. However, things took a disappointing turn about 10 minutes later when my wife went to collect a hot beverage she had ordered. She was unexpectedly stopped by a manager who insisted she had to pay the $8.50 for the garden salad, despite the serverâs earlier offer to swap it out at no cost. She explained what was said, but the manager dismissed it and made her pay the full price.
I was wondering why she was delayed returning to our table, only to learn she'd been caught in this awkward and frustrating situation.
When the meals were finally served, both the original rocket salad and the garden salad were on the plateâdespite the request to remove the rocket, precisely to avoid food waste. Sadly, thatâs exactly what happened.
As a long-time customer of Star Brisbane, this was one of those âkick in the gutsâ moments. What started as a positive experience ended up being marred by poor communication and a lack of flexibility from management. It may seem like a small issue, but itâs the kind of thing that sticks with youâespecially when the service falls short of the standard weâve...
Read moreI ordered the Plant-powered Parmi. I am vegan, and this was the only meal option. I asked if the parmesan on the salad would be removed or swapped for a vegan option, and was told it would only be removed. I asked if instead of undressed rocket, I could have more chips instead but was denied. I asked if the salad could come separate so my partner could eat it instead of it going to waste. When my food arrived, I was given a regular meat Parmi though the salad was separate. The kitchen apologised and offered to correct themselves. They gave me a buzzer and 5-10 minutes later, a small slice of eggplant with half the vegan cheese unmelted was plopped onto the fries. Regrettably, I ate the meal as I was hungry for a special meal with my partnerâs family. The incorrect order was annoying but the real meal was incredibly disappointing, lack lustre, and insulting for $28. I would not have ordered this meal if I had known it would be less substantial and lower quality than a frozen schnitzel from Coles. Everyone at my table laughed at this âmealâ and will likely leave a similar review.
I suggest that the specific description of the meal be clarified for itsâ ingredients, as I assumed this establishment could muster something of much higher quality, and above simply a slice of eggplant.
The person I spoke to, Peta, was very understanding...
