Excellent service upon greeting, seating, checking in, taking orders and clearing plates. Up to standards for this kind of establishment. Reasonable child friendliness- high chair supplied. Plastic cutlery/plates would have been a bonus, but not expected.
Beautiful restaurant, lux table setting and cutlery with lush decor without being over the top chinoisery.
Food was pretty meh to be honest. It was ok. Very expensive for the quality of food served. I expected more flavours and frankly better food from browsing the menu.
Escargot and pork spring rolls crispy yes! meat was very dense and bland. Brick of meat deep friend. had no indication that escargot was in it my 5yo daughter liked it at least I had grown up eating Vietnamese spring rolls that were addictive and these are very disappointing. Much tastier in Inala and any Vietnamese pho establishment in Brisbane.
Eggplant curry eggplant was hard, chewy and probably undercooked. eggplant in any Chinese or Asian dish are at the very least soft and absorb flavours of the sauce it’s cooked in and sometimes melt on your mouth feel.
Turmeric swordfish forgettable but otherwise pleasant dish fish cooked nicely at least I think this is an upscale on Hanoi Cha Ca, that came out bland in flavour that is suppose to be bursting with tumeric, dill and fish sauce. cheaper and more flavourful in Inala, obv made with a cheaper fish like Basa.
Bo luc lac overcooked and chewy too salty pepper flavours spot on and familiar to my own family recipe had this dish far cheaper and better in Inala.
Waygu skewers decent dish with lovely flavours again overcooked
7.whole band snapper over cooked whole deep fried fish forgettable sauce, dry fish flesh it was ok
Jasmin rice side- rice was spot on for texture and taste
Fried rice. Was ok. Nothing special.
Banh Xeo colada - good cocktail. Lovely drink and...
Read moreWe dined at Lúc Lắc on Monday 02nd of June in celebration of my birthday. What an epic find. We were warmly welcomed and seated by Abby. Exceptional waitress! The vibe I picked up immediately. Seamless, warm and hospitable. The manager Will is exceptionally caring and fiercely proud of his team. I assume that prior negative reviewers did not even approach management with their niggly complaints before slamming the restaurant on google and nonsense talk about the dishes having a lack of taste. Could not disagree more. Bit of a shame as Will went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with our dining experience. Abby routinely checked in to make sure we were all happy and content- that is the time to speak up and not on google reviews. True elegant, five star service. The food was splendid - all our dishes were outstanding and we offer our compliments to the chefs. Special notes: *Must try the sugar cane juice, just refreshing and lovely *The prawn toast (entree), amazing! *If we could have about five plates of the Madelines with coffee cream, I would have happily devoured them all - what a birthday treat!
Thank you Will for the birthday wishes and your endeavours to keep the workplace exciting, it shows how much you care and translates through the service. We look forward to...
Read moreRead moreEDIT: Despite the response from the restaurant below, 3 months out no one has been in touch to discuss.... We booked a bar table well in advance for dinner but were not told on booking that this meant we would only have access to a "bar menu" which left us very disappointed when we arrived. On top of this when we arrived we were told that half of the items of the already small bar menu were not available (it was 6.30pm!). Given there were only 2 of us at the small table, there was ample room for a shared curry, I can't understand why the couldn't just serve us with the full menu knowing that the bar menu was not fully available. Since it was our Anniversary we decided to stay and ordered a bottle of champagne; I received one glass and my husband did not. When we asked where the bottle was, they could not find it and had to go looking for it. Eventually they provided a new one but it was a bit of a shambles. Re: atmosphere, the space we sat in was right next to public access areas and it was very noisy with lots of people wandering through the area to have a look. It felt a bit like sitting in a food court of a shopping centre. Overall, we left hungry and disappointed and would not recommend it...
