To start the positives: food was delicious. Served on beautiful table wear. Restaurant is brand new and with a stylish fit out and great view at the front of the restaurant. Waitress was pleasant. This should have made for a great experience. However: I booked 11 days ahead and asked for a window table for my husband’s birthday lunch. They got the message but put us at the front door instead. My husband was disappointed as it was his birthday and we had popped into the restaurant the week before to choose the right table. Anyway we moved on. We got a quite strict email advising us we had a booking at 12.30 so had to be out by 2.15pm. Not a lot of time we thought, but it’s their timing. EVERYTHING took a long time to happen. After waiting and asking several times, 2 out of 6 meals turned up at 2pm. Fed up with the constant asking for food or drink ,my husband spoke to the manager Lee who said they were very busy with walk ins. Not at all your customer’s problem Lee. So unprofessional and if that’s the problem it would be his issue to deal with promptly. Don’t accept the walk ins if your staff and kitchen can’t cope. This is clearly a staffing and communication problem that the manager is responsible for. The rest of the meals came out at 2.10pm. 5 minutes before our time was up and a member of our family had to leave for work. The drinks took so long coming repeatedly, my husband asked for them to put the wine bucket next to him so he could serve our guests drinks😠this also didn’t happen so we sat and stared at our empty glasses. We were fed up and the birthday vibes were ruined. We stufffed down the very late meals and asked for the bill. As we were about to leave , Lee reappeared and offered us dessert. No thanks , we would prefer to have had a better experience. Free dessert as we were leaving doesn’t make up for a tiresome experience on a birthday celebration. What shame the experience didn’t...

Very mixed bag experience.

Food: The food was hit and miss. The Arancini were superb. The pizza was very doughy and stingy on toppings. The pasta was really nice, but the portion size was enough for a kitten, and considering this was a $35 portion, it was crazy. Overall, very average and disappointing for the price.

Atmosphere: It is a BEAUTIFUL interior, comfortable chairs, and very well thought out ambiance, although at times the music was confusing as I think I heard some K-pop at one point. The table decor was a little disappointing, no salt or pepper or chilli oil, or even fresh herbs. There was a lamp which made it hard to have more than two plates on it. A pizza and pasta on there, made the table very difficult to eat comfortably.

Service: I know it’s a relatively new restaurant, but the staff seemed very junior. They were mostly friendly and polite, but junior and not showing much initiative. Tried to walk in for a table considering it’s a Wednesday night, and got told only tables outside. It was 30°c and my wife is 41 weeks pregnant so we wanted to find somewhere. Came back 10 mins later asking for a table again and if they could call me when one inside becomes available, and they had one available. The girl at the front door seemed to look confused using the software. The entrees were served within 10 minutes, but I took about 40 minutes for our mains to come, and it was quiet (around 8:30pm).

Overall consensus: it’s a nice experience, but it’s over priced and you can find much nicer Italian in Brisbane, with portions bigger than for a kitten. I would recommend IL...

Quite sometime now I wanted to dine in this restaurant and finally yesterday I made an effort. We made a family booking. Upon arrival we were shown our table and I do admit the front staff were friendly and nice. Our table service by our waiter was expectational. We ordered Wine and it was decent taste for the price . Now you wondering why only 2 star. Well this is based on the owner policy made for the restaurant. I am against wasting food. We had 3 course meal and ofcourse it was our first time we wanted to try few different things. Came to a point where my daughter didn't want to eat her meal after I ordered so I asked the waiter if I could take it away for her to have later.

The waiter reply: sorry our owner doesn't allow takeaway food at all not even left over we don't have licence to let you take the left over food only pizza is allowed for take away. 🤔🫤 okay ? I have never heard of this i own two Italian restaurants. I offer left over to be taken away. Rather than putting it in the bin

Avoid food wastage. My left over two plates of food would have been just thrown in the rubbish bin for sure. I paid for it and it became my food i can do whatever with in my opinion certainly not throw it in the bin.

Seriously to the owner understand that many people don't have food in the world to eat and change your policy. People with kids will always take away as half way home I had to stop at Mecca because my daughter got hungry.

We would not certainly dine in restaurants like this again and do not recommend at...

I love Italian food and over the journey I’ve eaten at many Italian restaurants. This place is right up there with the best. I had the scaloppine which was so tender and flavoursome. My friends had various pasta dishes and each raved about their choice. We had warmed olives and bruschetta as our two shared entrees and both were excellent. Our party consisted of four adults and one baby. The staff were so helpful in providing a high chair and a safe place to store the stroller. At one point they helped us remove the high chair and bring the stroller back - making space for that. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with ease and efficiency. The service regarding our meal was excellent and informative. The staff know the menu and make recommendations. Meals were brought quickly but there was no sense of being rushed, despite the fact that seating sessions only last for 90 minutes. It was unfortunate not to have the time to sample the dessert menu but what we did have will definitely see us returning - maybe next time skipping the entree and leaving time for dessert - that menu looked pretty appetising. The view while we ate was lovely as day turned into night and the cityscape lit up. The ferris wheel and city lights were just icing on our cake! Highly recommend this restaurant.

We had the most unforgettable Sunday long lunch at Cucina Regina! From the moment we walked in, it felt like we’d been transported straight to Italy. The food was absolutely incredible – every course was bursting with authentic flavour and care, like something made in a true Italian family kitchen. What really made the day stand out, though, was the entertainment. The combination of live music and dancing created such a vibrant, joyful atmosphere, and the dance performances in particular truly brought the room to life. It wasn’t just lunch – it was a celebration. You can feel how passionate the owner is about Italy, and it shines through in every detail. Hearing him share stories about his family, their humble beginnings, and the tradition of Prosecco was both heartwarming and inspiring. It gave such depth to the whole experience, making us feel like part of the family. If you’re looking for authentic Italian hospitality with outstanding food, warm storytelling, and entertainment that makes the day unforgettable, Cucina Regina is the place to be. We’ll definitely be back!
