Waterline Park is a wonderful addition to the public spaces of Brisbane. Located next to the river, it offers a great location for outdoor activities, including a free public table tennis area. The park is covered, so visitors can play even when it is raining.
The table tennis area is a great way to spend time with friends or family. The tables are well-maintained, and the paddles and balls are provided, so visitors don't need to bring their own equipment. There are also benches nearby, so visitors can sit and relax while waiting for their turn to play.
One downside of the park is that it is located next to a busy road, so there is some traffic noise that can be distracting at times. However, the covered area does help to reduce the noise somewhat.
Aside from the table tennis area, Waterline Park also offers a great view of the river, making it a popular spot for taking photos or just enjoying the scenery. There are also some walking paths nearby, so visitors can take a stroll along the riverbank.
Overall, Waterline Park is a great place to visit for some outdoor fun, and the free table tennis area is a great bonus. While the traffic noise may be a bit of a downside, the covered area and beautiful river view more than...

Accessible from either the newly completed mangrove walk from Gardens Point (which is an amazing experience itself providing new vistas across the river to Southbank), or directly from the city the park is sheltered by the riverside expressway and provides an arrangement of fixed exercise equipment and recreation spaces that are integrated with the Mangrove Walk and Cycle pathway.
Three brightly coloured table tennis tables dominate the north eastern section, although it appears to be a 'BYO bats and balls' setup. There is a grassed area for picnic lunches or simply enjoying the green underfoot, and brightly coloured artwork everywhere - right down to the safety rubberised flooring between the pathways.
Brisbane's newest parkland provides a vibrantly decorated, modern space for relaxing or exercising, right in the heart of the city. It brought a smile to my night the moment I stepped into the zone, and I feel that it perfectly showcases Brisbane's fun,...
Read moreThere’s something calming about watching kids play while the water sits quietly nearby. This park had that kind of vibe. The open lawns were great for ball games, and my two didn’t waste any time making the most of it. The paths were wide and good for walking at an easy pace. It was tidy overall, which says a lot about how it’s looked after. I did find myself wishing for more shade and a few more benches – standing in the sun while the kids played got tiring. Facilities were okay, and it didn’t feel overrun with people, which I liked. It’s not a showstopper park, but for locals it serves its purpose well. I wouldn’t drive across town for it, but if you’re nearby, it’s a comfortable spot...
