I came with two of my friends to have a couple of drinks after having dinner at city. We came with the best disposition to have a good time but this was ruined by one of the security staffs. We decided to sit down outside while my friends finishes their ice creams and I drink my beer that I bought at Gilhooleys. As soon as I sat down the security staff approached us saying without any explanation that my friends that were finishing their ice creams needed to leave now. We looked at him awaiting for an explanation but he continued saying in a rude manner that they have to leave. When my friends asked him why he replied that they needed to buy something. While we understand the politics regarding consumption in the bar the staff member was really rude against my friends, he even didn’t give the opportunity for them to buy anything. Our plan was get into the bar to have a good time and my friends had to finished their ice creams just standing up and I had to be by myself just thinking about the bad time. When they finished we decided just let the bad moment go, so we decided to get into the bar to drink, but the same security staff stopped us saying that we could not get into the bar because we had food containers from our dinner, obviously we understand but the manner was just rude and the person was trying to use his authority in a disrespectful manner. We asked if it was possible to put inside in the bag of one of my friends and he reply no. Afterwards another security staff said to him that he didn’t have a problem if we keep it in the bag. When we sat down we have a terrible sensation and honestly this ruined our night, leaving after 20 minutes. We are not willing to coming back after the...

My husband and I came today at 11am ( the regular opening hour ) at this Pub and it was still closed. We waited for 10 minutes and then called the "Irish Pub", to got told that they are having a water-league and it could take 10 more minutes. After 20 more minutes and altogether 30 minutes waiting outside I called again and let them know, that we are still outside. While I still was on the phone, somebody opened the Entrance-door. My husband and I thought, this person would apologize for our 30 minutes plus waiting time and would let us in the "Irish Pub". Oh, we were so wrong!!! He shouted straight away at us: "There is no need to call two times - and listen to me, I can't let in customers for another 10+ minutes, because the Handy-man is still inside with tools". The way how he approached us, was very, very unprofessional. Letting paying customer's stay outside, not giving them any information, not offering any "apology for being patiently" - NO - just pointing the finger at us and jelling! My husband and I are over 60 years old and have never been so humiliated from such a "young unskilled Manager" in our whole life - even when we walk away, he was still screaming after us. Don't forget: We Customers are...

I went in with my partner thinking that because the outside looked busy, it would be a good place to have some lunch. When we went inside, it wasn't busy at all.
We ordered 2 medium rare steaks with a lemonade and a beer. We sat there as we watched 3 staff members serve 2 people in the spacing of 5 minutes while out food sat on the pass getting cold. You could easily hear the bell through the practically empty dining area. I got up to ask if I could take it from the 1 guy in the kitchen, only to be told the staff brings the food to the table from one of the bar staff.
The guy that bought the food over offered us anything else, like some table water, we said yes and nothing ever came. He was playing on his phone when we left 20 minutes later, he was wearing a blue collared shirt and I think could have been a manager.
When the owner eventually closes this place down, I'm hoping the next owner focuses on the day crowd on the weekend, just basic stuff that they have been doing in Dublin for...
