On the night of 29 August, my partner and I had dinner here. While the food was great as always, the customer service was disappointing, which is why I felt the need to leave a review.
The front-of-house staff member (black hair, wearing an Adidas track top) was the main issue. She looked visibly grumpy the entire time and gave no verbal response to any questions from customers. At one point, when someone asked where the bathroom was, she simply pointed at a key by the cashier without saying a word. Another staff member from the bar kindly stepped in to assist, but the impression had already been very poor.
At our table, we had a small portable heater placed on it, which took up too much space. When we asked if it could be removed, she just moved it roughly onto the next table, where three other customers were already seated, without saying a single word to them. They looked shocked and confused, so we ended up explaining to them why the heater had suddenly been placed there.
These are just a couple of examples, but there were several other moments of unprofessional service that we noticed, and I’m sure other customers did too. We’ve dined here many times before and always enjoyed it, but this was the first time we experienced such poor service. I really hope management addresses this so the restaurant can maintain the great experience...
Read moreUpdate: I used to really like this place until my recent visit. They put up the price, which is fine, but the service has gotten worse than before. I waited 25 minutes for my takeaway even though I was the first to arrive before 5pm. The staff told me to wait outside, then didn't bother to let me know my order was ready until I asked, so they were just sitting on the counter the whole time, cold, especially the tteokbokki. I requested to be made fresh, and they refused. Disappointing.
Great fried chicken 🍗 - original, soy, and sweet spicy sauce (with bones). Love their creamy rosé tteokbokki with fried fritters, dumplings and seaweed noodle rolls and steamed egg as well.
Come early or be prepared to wait for at least 30 minutes for a table and don't even bother with takeaways. They are always full and busy, and service is almost non-existent. I'd go to K-Pocha for a much better service and food for a good night out.

Ambience isn't the best. Tables were shaky and felt makeshift. Restaurant was quite understaffed. Staff were running everywhere. They kitchen staff and cashier had to step in and serve because the front of house was overwhelmed.
Fried chicken was crispy and tasty. The cheese fondue gave it an extra dimension and I was in Fried Chicken heaven. I'll be back again just for this!
Fish cake soup was alright. The portion is good for 4. There was am overload of fish cake. Soup was so salty that I heard my kidney cry.
It's super popular and the queue was non-stop.
Cashier couldn't understand me. I told her I ordered ONE bowl of rice and they charged me for TWO. Then she said "thank you for your honesty." I thought I heard wrongly.
But I decided to just give them the $3 tip for working so hard.
Our bill came up to 75 cus we ordered a bottle of Peach Makgeolli (korean sparkling rice wine) which was such a good pairing with fried chicken.
Will be back to try the dish that comes with a free bowl of...
