Kürtősh - West End — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Edit: We visited the store again today, complete different experience from our previous visit below! 4 ⭐️ instead of the original 1 ⭐️

Took my mum and bub there today, at the counter ordering our pistachio Kurtosh we were advised there would be a 20 minute wait and we agreed we were happy to wait while we had our coffees. Kurtosh started going out to tables 20 minutes later however they were for tables who ordered after us, so I approached the staff to check if the one he’s serving out now was ours (as it was also a pistachio Kurtosh) he told us it was for another table which again was someone who ordered wayyy after us. The staff went to the lady who was making the Kurtosh to let her know we were still waiting, she came over and said yours is take away it’s been there for the last 10 minutes but you didn’t come pick it up. Why would our Kurtosh be TAKE AWAY when our coffees were served in have here mugs???? Without addressing their mistake of messing up our order she then said either to “take the cold one, or make another which will take another 15 minutes.” We’ve already waited half an hour so I asked for a refund instead. She came over and gave us cash without saying a word or even looked at us. It was extremely disappointing! I understand sometimes things just happen, however this is no way to provide customer service! I saw her talking to her colleagues looking at our table, so I went over to express my disappointment. The lady who provided the refund was very defensive and continued with strong attitude and said “I gave you options” making it sound like we were the ones at fault! The other staff whom she was speaking to sensed the tension and went on to apologise for the mix up, which was all we wanted. The cakes are yummy, won’t say amazing but not too bad. With the cozzie livs now yes $7.20 per 100g is not something everyone can afford nowadays. I do expect an enjoyable expeirence for this price.

However I experience cake weight issue, a fly has gone into the fridge and the barista yelling across the floor to complete the drinks order. There was actually a rubbish bin placed near the fridge door hence it is understandable the fly can go into there easily.

The cake weight issue is something that lead me to write this feedback.

My friend and I went to this store at around 8.00pm to buy dine in (3x100g) + ice chocolate + peppermint tea + take way (1x tiramisu, 1x chocolate bakka at a total $46.78.

We open the take away box (one only) to look at the two pieces of cakes. My friend suspect the chocolate bakka does not have the full 100g.

She present this to the barista (may have been the owner or manager actually). She took away the cakes and come back - the tiramisu weight 128g and bakka is 88g. She wonder if we have her to correct both cakes weight. My friend said yes as each of us will have the cakes individually- it will not be fair to have one less than 100g weight.

The barista comes back with two boxes with two newly cut cake. We open the boxes - tiramisu looks smaller and the chocolate bakka looks slightly bigger than before.

We took the cake and continue to have our drinks. We continue to discuss the resolution - the staff went through great length to avoid losing the extra 28g tiramisu and fix the bakka weight issue - 28g, $7.2 per 100g = $2.00

Not only this isnt a good look as an infamous shop - to cut two new cakes and waste another box to avoid losing $2.00. It also leads me to think how they can always maintain the appropriate 100g weight when the customer cannot see the scale before paying. We were here last Saturday 3.30pm because I want to treat my family for afternoon. They have a really good range of cakes and savoury pastries in their display cabinet. But we came for the kürtösh because we want something different. To cut the long story short, we ordered 2x cinnamon, 1x nutella and 1x pistachio kurtosh and pastry (warmed up) and we were told that there’s a 15mins wait for the kurtosh, and we were fine about that. After 20mins (4.10pm), the 2x cinnamon was served-thinking the nutella and pistachio shouldn’t be too far away. After another 20mins from when the cinnamon were served, we followed it up to the lady at the counter and we were told 8 more mins, fine! The nutella was served at around 4.30pm. Then we waited for the pistachio until we noticed that the girl preparing the kurtosh is no longer making any, so we followed up and we were told that they have forgotten about it and will take another 15mins to make it! I was so angry and disappointed as my daughter who ordered the pistachio was very excited about it and ended up hungry and disappointed. While we were offered a refund, the whole experience for us was just disappointing as the customer service was lousy, there were no communication between the staff and EACH staff that were there on the day were rude and do not care about their customers that were dining in, they worry more about those who ordered takeaway, as we saw the orders came out quicker to those who ordered takeaways, while us who were there waited for 1hour 1/2 for our order.
