Lychee Lounge has been a favourite Brisbane spot of mine for years. I love the cocktails. I loved the staff and the atmosphere. I went tonight to celebrate a long week of hard work. I arrived and went to the bar and said hello cutely and asked for a drinks menu. I was questioned "how many drinks have you had tonight?" I replied, confused, that I hadn't had any and that this was the first bar I had been to. I was denied service, being told that I seemed intoxicated and I wasn't going to be served and neither would my partner. Both of us were completely sober. I was disgusted and shocked. I left and was considerably irritated and quite offended as I walked down the street. I decided to go back to ask for an email address to complain to the owner of the establishment about the incredibly offensive manner of which I was treated but was hustled outside of the bar and told that voicing my opinion was grounds to label me as "disorderly." I have never been so offended in my entire life. It was one of my number one spots but this one incident of misjudgement and ignorance has ruined the place for me. Read moreLovely to see the Asahi Rep who I see at my work at the Fox Hotel in at the Lychee Lounge when I arrived tonight. I was greatly Honoured by Vicki the proprietor of the Lychee Lounge, who asked me to participate in tasting some exquisite Japanese Whiskey. Excellent smooth whiskey mellow and seeing Josh and Alex who have perfected the Best Espresso Martinis in Brisbane. If you have not visited this quaint cocktail lounge take it from an old school chef this is truly a blessing to find in the South Brisbane and West End district. Whatever fits your mood but I urge you to please visit this place. I can guarantee you will not be...
Read moreOkay, have been here twice. First time the bar dude was too busy chatting someone up to actually serve us or make the drinks we ordered.
Second time, they had nothing.
Can u have a coffee. No, only a coffee martini.
Can I have a tap beer. No, we are out on all taps.
Also, the first three cocktails we ordered off their menus were not available due to a lack of ingredients.
The drinks we did get were mediocre.
All in all, Lychee Lounge has been rubbish two out of two times.
Edit: Lychee I know has changed owner. I can no longer comment on the quality. Will try again and update.
Edit again: Still no good. No atmosphere. Awkward to be here. I think it's changed owner at least once since...
