UPDATE; Have been back on several occasions in the new year and the food has been great! Great tasty burger with homemade patty and held together the whole way through. Also had the Parmy a couple of times with great crunchy chook, fresh hot crunchy chips and a lovely fresh crisp side salad freshly dressed. Have also had most of the entrees/share plates with the only miss there being the frozen battered chicken wings👎 They have a great deal on the Carlton Draught pints (straight from the copper vats) all day being 2 for $15. Also awesome espresso martini’s as well with a deal on those at 2 for $20. Great for live sports with a massive big screen. The service is always spot on now too and the toilets are clean and not stinky like a lot of pubs. Great little pub with some awesome little nooks and crannies including the back courtyard/beer garden. I've had several things here and the food is ok, but for the price I expected something better. Had the bbq platter but the meat had obviously been reheated from cold on the grill, which is not good for smoked meats. Found the mac that came with it really dry and no seasoning so the bbq was a no from me. Having said that though I have had American bbq all over the world and Australia so have had the real deal from great pitmasters. Also on another visit had the cheeseburger spring rolls and their signature beef burger. The spring rolls were horrible and just tasted of American mustard and that was it really. The burger was pretty good with a ripper homemade patty but the bun fell apart on me 1/2 through it (generic problem with most places) so had to finish with a knife and fork, not cool for a burger. The staff have always been friendly and attentive when we have come in for beers and bets. ***UPDATE Had the rump lunch special and it was a ripper. Cooked to medium/rare, hot crunchy chips and nice fresh salad.

Recently reopened, Hotel Carrington in The Valley is a real find. Looks amazing, spotlessly clean, very friendly staff, comprehensive menu served 7 days from 11.30am to 9.30pm, extensive beer selection and beverage list, and you can’t beat the Re-Opening Special - $15 for a burger or pizza with a schooner of beer (or alcoholic ginger beer or Solo). Incredible value! I had the Canadian Burger - top quality and full of flavour - and a Ginger Beer…..absolutely fantastic 😋 Specials board looked good too. I love this place and will be back!

Great addition to Fortitude Valley. It was pumping when I was there on Saturday night. Fun selection of beer on tap and lots of staff to serve you! Venue is sectioned off into 3 areas with a TAB, bar area and seating area to enjoy along with a pool table. Good location away from the hustle and bustle of the mall and Brunswick St. Really nice ambience and garden vibe it’s a nice place if you are looking to chill out.

I was at the Hotel Carrington tonight and ordered the pork belly, crackling and harissa vegetables for $30. What I received was a about 100 grams of what tasted like ham heated in the microwave, about four tiny pieces of crackling and a plate of potato. When I complained to the manager (about the amount of meat on the plate and that the word 'vegetables' implied there would be a range of vegetables) he said the meat was measured (whatever that meant since the amount of meat is not stated on the menu) accompanied by a look of complete disdain. If the food I received and the manager's attitude are anything to go by, this establishment cares not a jot about its reputation or treatment of its patrons. Such a shame, since the hotel itself is full of atmosphere and charm. Go there for a drink, but give the food a big miss - unless you want to be ripped off and treated shabbily, when you have the audacity to complain.

And as to the response below... the Manager and your team are big fibbers. The response I wrote about above, is the entire response I received. No one offered me a replacement meal or free drink. Why would anyone refuse that? If the Manager had basic customer service skills and offered a replacement (to a hardly eaten meal), I would never have complained and gone to the trouble of posting a negative review on three sites. Again, no respect for your customers. And why would I want contact with an establishment whose...

I will not be returning to this business after the very lacklustre service my friends and I received. My friends and I paid to be apart of an organised pub crawl that featured Hotel Carrington as a stop. We ordered three of the cocktails of the month as they were pretty heavily advertised at the bar and thought they would make a nice starter drink. However as soon as we had placed the order the bar tender became very aggressive. He was slamming things, throwing bottles in the bin, almost violently tore down the advertisements for the cocktail. I was actually quite intimidated by his actions and felt hesitant to consume my drink due to the sheer malice that went into making it. Had we of been asked at the beginning to order another drink we would have, we were not seeking to inconvenience anyone just get a nice drink like all the other patrons. I would not typically leave such a negative review, however after my friend’s own review was completely dismissed I felt I must reiterate to management that this behaviour was disgusting, inexcusable and...
