✨🙉welcome to one of the newest additions in the city @wukongkitchenandbar ! i was eager to see what would fit into the empty space that they are in now, and my goodness, DELICIOUSNESS has filled the space🤩🥰

we got✨🍽:

🥘shanghai hot and sour soup 🥟deep fried wonton 🍤har gao ✨xiao long bao 🦀spanner crab and lobster bisque xiao long bao 🍗chicken char kway teow 🥩traditional beef brisket 💖pink lady cocktail 🍹grapefruit and lemon mocktail

the soup was a bowl of thick, hot and sour soupy goodness! perfect for colder nights and pairing with other dishes🥰

i love har gao very much🥹flavor and texture of these were delish!🤍one thing though, i personally like the filling to be more chunky pieces of prawn instead of all blended and one big ball but not dealbreaker🥰

both of the XLB’s were soupy and cooked perfectly! nothing beats the original flavor for me🤤the crab and lobster one… hmmm… not for me🥲definitely super interesting though!🤧nice shellfish flavor, but i think the original XLB is the best!

there aren’t many places that can do CKT well! and oh my did they do it well! flavors were on point and they give so much chicken inside! you can see the nice charring on some of the noodles, and it was fried dry nicely, the authentic way!🤩🥰was super impressed by this!

the beef brisket was super tender🤩🤤incredible seasoning and sauce! this dish is a little salty by its own so you must pair it with noodles or rice!✨🥳

both drinks were super pretty and refreshing🥹💖🍹

overall, i really recommend @wukongkitchenandbar i was throughly surprised and impressed by their quality of food and even their prices are not skyrocket high for their taste and location!🥰🤩definitely will be going back soon… very soon actually, i’ve already booked a table so that means...

Definitely NOT a children-friendly restaurant!!! I took my 2.5-year-old son and my parents to have lunch there. My son accidentally ate something spicy so he raised his voice a bit and started feeling upset cos he couldn’t eat spicy food. But then he settled very quickly so we continued with our meal. Then a waitress(who works in the dining area, not the waitress working at the front entrance counter as she was lovely) came to us and said “as we have other customers dining here, could you please get your kid to lower his volume?” I felt very shocked that just because my son raised his voice as he felt upset for just a bit, we got told to ask my 2.5-year-old son to lower his volume. I understand that it will be disturbing to other customers IF my son has been screaming and not settling but that wasn’t the case, and how could that waitress not be patient and show some basic understanding and request us to make a toddler lower his volume as if he is old enough to understand everything????? If children especially toddlers are not welcome in this restaurant as you can’t tolerate a toddler feeling a bit upset and making some noise, you should’ve put a sign at the very front entrance to say no children/toddler allowed!!!! That waitress was just absolutely rude and thats not the way a restaurant should treat their customers! Absolutely disappointed with the service from this restaurant. Have never been treated as rude from all my dining experience in any restaurants in brisbane! If you have young children, I would not recommend you go to this...

What a beautiful chineese restaurant, different from what you typically, might expect. From the interesting choice of decor to the mesmerising lighting, dinner at Wu Kong Kitchen & Bar is a full experience. A friend and I came here on a Saturday night and it was rather busy, so I would suggest booking a table in advance if possible, from booking time you are give around a 90 minute slot to order and eat your meals before the restaurant needs the table for the next guests which we found was plenty of time. The menu was easy to read, had a good array of options and was very reasonably priced. The cocktail menu was also pretty reasonable I paid $12 for my cocktail and it was delicious. My friend and I ordered our meals and no word of a lie they came out within 5-10mins hot and fresh to the table, beautifully cooked, full of flavour and proportionate to the price.

I Would definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try if you like Chinese food and are...

I do not recommend this place as a dining location. The food was amazingly boring and bland. We ordered 4 things, fried tofu, spring rolls, Kong pau chicken and wu Kong fried rice with chicken. All but the spring rolls were bland and boring. The Kong pau chicken was supposed to be spicy but it didn't have any spice. This is subjective obs but the Wu Kong fried rice with chicken was just egg fried rice (there wasn't a hint of chicken). Maybe I ordered the wrong things, the reviews all rave about this place as well as it is packed out all the time. Maybe I'll give it another go sometime and order different things. The redeeming aspects of this place might be the bar, I had a pina colada, called something else on the menu which was very nice and the overall vibe of the place is great. If you are just meeting a friend for a drink and want a great bar location this is a good place.

We had dinner on a word of mouth recommendation and were not disappointed! Wu Kong Kitchen & Bar ticks all the boxes! Firstly the service is top notch. Friendly and helpful and quick. The food wow! The food we got was amazing! We ordered hot and sour soup, and out came a beautifu,l unctuous bowl of goodness filled with wood ear fungus, tofu, egg, bamboo shoot etc and a delicious flavour from the vinegar. Char Kway Teow and Beef Brisket Lo Mein were our main. The char Kway Teow was awesome, great spice and wok hei, good depth of flavour. My favourite was the dry noodle beef brisket. Best I have eaten in a long time. Special mention to the Taro ice tea. Not artifical purple, but real black tea with real chopped Taro! This is incredible value dining for really genuine food and service. Highly recommended
