This place is an amazing little find and should not be underestimated. I’ll start with the sauces as that seems to be the foundation of the business. Jay makes a range of sauces and seasonings that are available for sale but also to have with meals and you will be spoiled for choice. I love the Peri Peri sauce! Then the meals. We went there for breakfast and the food is very much what you would do at home, rather than café meals. HOWEVER, the value for money is outstanding! $5 for a bacon and eggs, $10 for eggs benedict etc. I always base my reviews on a value for money concept which is why fine dining places and small kiosks can both get 5 stars. Jay’s is just one of the best bang for bucks you will ever find. The setting of the place is extremely casual and staff are very friendly. What I also love is Jay himself is behind the counter, taking orders and making coffee. I really like where my money is going. The only criticism I have is that the coffee was a little weak. I went back twice during my stay and will never hesitate to go back there again.

Had a lovely breakfast here - $3 iced latte (using app) and $7 Jay’s breakfast, with two fried eggs, bacon, grilled tomato and toast. Seriously, for $10 you can’t complain at all! I chose to sit outside because it’s an open grill kitchen so unless you want to smell like food afterwards it’s best not to sit indoors. There are a few tables outside which would generally be enough for the patrons. Service was friendly too and they even address you by your name when they bring you your food and coffee if you order using the app (because it requires you to enter that). I highly recommend this place and wouldn’t hesitate to come back whenever I visit Coolangatta in the future.

I just can't believe how it could be 4.7 reviews with these burnt food and dirty fork and knife!!! The bread is covered with lots of disgusting mayo and the veggie grilled with too much oil. I thought I smell some rotten stuff from the street then it actually came from the food on my plate. I probably never left food in a restaurant but this time I have to discard these things in case I may get sick. When I talked to their chef, he said the food is supposed to be burnt like this! I was so shocked that he looks like he doesn't care about hygiene and is very rude.

We stayed next door last November and we bought ourselves coffee every morning very good service, friendly good coffee. He knew our coffees. We even had a burger yummy and very reasonable price, we got lost one night around and he was right there helping us how to get to shops even back home. We ended up calling Google man .me and my friend came again now and staying in Narrowneck and traveled all the way to kira Beach to get to have lovely yummy burgers 🍔 but unfortunately couldn't because of the his shop was burned 😢 I am so sorry to hear about your shop my dear, hopefully 🙏 everything works out for you and when we come back again we will see you....
