Dropped in for a quick take away while rushing back to the office. Awkward atmosphere as they take your order then have you standing around sit down diners trying to eat. The food was right there behind the glass ready to go but every order seemed to take 5 minutes to prepare with lots of discussion and messing around while an ever building qty of take away customers filled the small space. I was 3rd in line. After 5 minutes waiting for the 1st person to receive their food (also ready cooked and behind the glass right in front of them) gave up and walked out. They get to keep my $16 order but I’ll do my best to turn people away from these dopes at every opportunity. Lots of places that serve sushi in Hobart. Don’t waste your time here, go elsewhere.
A response to my initial review suggesting an online ordering solution seems to be missing the point. Maybe simply handing over a person's order once they've paid like every other take away counter would solve the problem? From now on every person who has read this review and is forced to wait will be doubly frustrated. Do yourselves a favor Bento, take a look at how every other shop does it and give it a go... Not too...
Read moreI stopped by this bento shop on a whim, and I’m so glad I did! Every single item in the box was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully arranged. The rice was perfectly cooked, the protein (I had the teriyaki salmon) was tender and well-seasoned, and the variety of sides showed real care and creativity — from pickled veggies to a perfectly rolled sushi.
The presentation alone is worth the visit — it’s clear the staff takes pride in their craft. The service was warm and friendly, and the place had a calm, cozy vibe that made the meal even more enjoyable.
Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a beautiful takeout dinner, this shop is a hidden gem. I’ll definitely be coming back....
Read moreAbsolutely a waste of time. I waited more than 30 minutes to get a teriyaki udon, and while waiting, I just assumed that it was going to taste really good because of the time wait, but I was disappointed by the results. Teriyaki chicken was salty and very overpriced for just a bowl of noodles with salty teriyaki chicken in it. Even getting a $2.30 udon at the shops tasted better than what I received. Once I got seated, I watched as countless people got turned away due to the lack of seating and tables. Never...
