I normally do not write reviews but I had to write one for this place.
I recently dined at New York Minute on Flinder St., and it was one of the most frustrating experiences I've had in a while. The staff appeared overwhelmed, and it took an eternity to place my order, despite the restaurant being only half full.
Once I finally ordered what I expected to be a delicious burger, I found myself watching the clock as minutes turned into what felt like an hour. When my burger finally arrived, I was met with disappointment. The presentation was lackluster, and the burger itself was mediocre at best. The patty was overcooked and dry, and the toppings were sparse and uninspired.
To add insult to injury, the fries were soggy and lacked any seasoning. It was clear that the kitchen was not putting in the effort that one would expect from a burger joint.
Overall, my experience at New York Minute on Flinder St. was a letdown. The long wait for such a subpar meal left me feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. I won’t be returning anytime soon, and I can’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good burger. Save your time and money and try a...

I had mistakenly thought that New York Minute had closed down after the Carlton branch had closed down but then I spotted a new branch on Flinder St so I gave it a try to see how much has changed since I tried it so many years ago.
The main difference seems to be on the portion size. Previously (pre-COVID pre-Cost of Living crisis), the portions were huge and the prices were high as a result so it was difficult to finish a burger AND fries but now the portions seem more reasonable along with the prices. We had the Manhattan Island burger and a kids meal. The Manhattan Island burger was perfect, just the right amount of sauce, fresh salad and burger cooked to perfection. The fries were freshly made and came out piping hot and crisp. The kids meal portion was great. It wasn't so small that kids are left hungry after.
The service was fast efficient and friendly.
Overall, I'm glad to see that there is a branch of NYM in the city so we'll have to...
Read moreWalked in on a whim and can say I was thoroughly satisfied by the experience. They have 3 self-serve kiosks or you can order at the counter, I used self-serve, and it was intuitive and easy to use. Ordered and about 5 or so minutes later my buzzer went off, collected food and it was as good as it looked. Burger was big but not too large that it was annoying to eat as well as being one of the best burgers I've had, chips were very hot and fresh, everything was served on a little carry tray and the whole experience was just good. The vibe of the place was good too, music was good and the place was very clean and tidy, lots of wood and a massive neon sign which was cool as. Will certainly come back next time I'm in Melbourne. I can't...
