Early Bird Cafe — Restaurant in New South Wales

I got myself poached two eggs on toast with avocado and halloumi. Lucky I asked for avocado and halloumi as I literally got a dry toasted bread with poached eggs.

Funny thing was, it took the chef to prepare and waiter to bring me the plate in 20 minutes as there were only four people with similar orders. (One had smashed avo like dish, others were similar to mine)

The place had a great atmosphere though. It was peaceful and relaxing.

I think the owner was the “cook”. If that is true, please listen to my recommendation and invest on a good chef. Do not take this in a wrong way. Having a good business mind doesn’t get you customers. Working with a chef is an important factor in gastronomy.

My breakfast was overpriced as I paid over $25. I didn’t bother taking a photo. Try another place if you are coming from Melbourne as I know your expectations.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the food was good. The prices were a bit rich for my blood, but based on the look and taste of the food, you're St least getting the quality you're paying for. I don't know if the backless benches and stools were supposed to be trendy or economical, but either way if you want lumbar support, you'll need to be prepared to sit outside on one of the plastic chairs.

Otherwise, this was a very cute little café, and as a barista myself, I watched the fellow on the coffee machine with envy since he was clearly good at what he was doing.

Oh, and keep in mind, I found the name confusing, since I assumed it was a breakfast bistro, but I believe the early bird name is just a style thing, or maybe because of the seed - on one of the shelves, it looked like there was birdseed for purchase, but don't quote me on that - this place is in fact open until the mid-afternoon, but closes before evening. The menu was confusing and there were no actual names on it, just what was in it. The coffee was average and the hot chocolate want not very enjoyable. Just came with warm milk and what I’d say was a piece of dark chocolate thrown in the bottom, not mixed in or anything as well as that it doesn’t mix well too (just floats of top) looks unappetising as well. We didn’t get any food.

Hi I read you comment and I’m positive you have the wrong people because no one told us anything but “hope you enjoy” and the only time I did go to the counter was to grab a menu. I did not speak to anyone nor did the lady that was speaking even look when I was there. So please don’t imply that I’m incompetent and dumb because I’m not no one ever said anything about it to us and the milk wasn’t even hot enough to melt it properly ( I did stir it as soon as I saw the milk).
