When I walked into this restaurant, I was immediately struck by how unclean and poorly maintained the environment was—it was so off-putting that I almost walked right back out. Scattered across the floor were old receipts and pieces of trash, while many of the tables were covered in crumbs and leftover messes from previous customers. There were used takeaway straw covers and napkins lying around, giving the impression that no one had cleaned up for hours. It was clear the staff had either neglected their responsibilities or lacked proper supervision.
After placing my order at the self-service kiosk, I passed by the McCafé area and noticed something even more concerning: two cartons of milk sitting out on the counter with their lids off. The inside of the cartons had visible rings, a telltale sign they had been sitting out for multiple uses. This was a clear breach of food safety standards, yet these cartons were still being used to make beverages sold to unsuspecting customers. It was shocking to see such disregard for hygiene and customer health.
After waiting a full 20 minutes for my food, I observed the staff and manager throughout the entire process. The manager—who was noticeably overweight—spent most of this time loudly boasting to the staff about how great they used to be, saying things like, "Back in my day, I was so good that…" rather than addressing the growing issues in the restaurant. His behavior was unprofessional and did nothing to set a positive example for his team. When my order was finally ready, it included three drinks and a large food bag. Despite it being obvious I was alone, the manager handed me the drinks and asked, "Do you need a cup tray?" It was an unnecessary and almost sarcastic question, given the circumstances.
What struck me most was how little effort was being made to address the chaos around them. Instead of tackling the obvious mess and cleanliness problems, the staff were loudly chatting with the manager. Their conversation was not only inappropriate in tone but also distracting from their duties. At one point, when a staff member asked the manager a genuine question, he responded in a belittling and dismissive manner, further eroding any sense of teamwork or professionalism on display. Not only that, when I did receive my food on asked for a special order that was not fulfilled. No onions and not pixels. Seems like a pretty easy concept to grasp. To me anyway.
Having worked as a manager at this very McDonald’s, I know firsthand what’s expected to run a shift smoothly. The failure of this operation wasn’t due to a lack of resources or overwhelmed staff—it was because the manager lacked the moral courage to lead by example and enforce basic standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and customer service. The result was a chaotic, unwelcoming, and disappointing experience for anyone walking...

I understand my order is not the most simple and had modifications however it was also very clear that who ever was in back of house on boards doesn’t like when modifications are made. How about we educate our staff that modifications on food are a MUST follow. Allergens are a serious issue, that can’t just be ignored or over looked. I ordered a simple Big Mac meal no pickle (because ewww) no cheese (extremely lactose intolerant like EXTREMELY) with extra onion and Big Mac sauce (I know the sauce will make me sick to but Big Mac sauce is worth it, maccas cheese or well any S.O.S cheese is ewwie) well it still came with cheese and pickles, it also had so much sauce that it was literally inedible. Imagine your burger is so covered in sauce that both meat patties AND the middle bun both slid out open picking it up and a double cheese burger was also ordered no pickle extra sauces, prepared by the same person it was also inedible with the sauce leaking threw the wrapper and in to the bag and the smell of mustard was nauseating. Also ordered 3 large drinks and there probably wasn’t even 1 large drink between the 3 cups. Only thing worth the arm and a leg you have to pay for it was the nuggets, ordered 20 nuggets on their own and were piping hot! How ever the rest of the meal was shameful. Where is management ? Why are you not watching your crew ? Why are you not aware that your staff in burger room are 1. Wasting product, 2. Destroying your reputation how ever the state of the store lately will do that all on its own and 3. Wasting money and jobs that could be going to people who actually give a damn. Management and crew need a real shake up in this store and as a manager of a fast food restaurant myself I can confidently say that. The lack of professionalism, accountability , responsibility and maturity is really showing through I would be ashamed to know my crew were producing and thinking this level of incompetence and ignorance is okay or acceptable. I get it mistakes are made but this is beyond a mistake and just childish behaviour. People should be able to eat the food they pay for and it be made the way the customer is expecting it to be made considering we pay 700% more extra for absolutely every modification made then what jt actually cost the restaurant per extra individual serving PLUS what your smart ass staff think is okay and wasting it. Absolutely, positively one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had and I know it won’t be the last. Pick your locations wisely and by wisely I mean...
Read moreMy family and I were driving home in the rain after a late night in Melbourne. Another 4 hours of our drive lay ahead, hungry, tired sick of each other, we decided (unfortunately) to stop at what was to me one of the worst McDonalds I have ever experienced. When I enter a McDonalds, I typically don't have high expectations. However I do expect food of reasonable freshness and quality, and only slightly dirty facilities. Instead I was met with bins spitting out goo, clearly uncleaned, and equipment in the McCafe was left out and dirty. The manager (who was a surly and unmotivated mess) showed no desire to improve quality for customers. During the extended wait for our food, I entered the bathroom for a short break. My heart rate sky-rocketed. Was that liquid water, or something more sinister? Leaving in disgust I found that my order still had not arrived. With a long drive ahead this wait was causing me anxiety. Nobody likes driving at night, do they? Finally after an interminable wait, my meal finally arrived, however when going to collect it, I found that my latte was missing. I was reasonably told to collect from the Cafe but unreasonably was told to wait. I went outside to begin my meal, and I began doubting earlier decisions Should I have gone to to KFC? or even hungry jacks? I too the first bite of my burger to find inexplicably dry sauce and an overcooked but cold patty. I had waited a long time for my meal and when I get it, it's cold? Putting down a burger where the only source of moisture was a few strands of limp lettuce, I went back in to check on my coffee. I talked to the staff at the Cafe and it turns out that my coffee had been left out, like the milk and other equipment used to make it. Well, I had it, so things couldn't really get worse. I tentatively sipped my coffee and recoiled at the taste. I had to take the lid off to see if this substance was indeed "coffee fit for an aussie". I set up to leave, dissapointed beyond words. As a parting gift I observed a staff member attempting to clean out an overflowing bin. As they removed the lid, full soda cups sent their content gushing onto the floor, mingling with the grease to create one last obstacle to my hasty exit. Entering my car I scrambled for a cleansing mint, vowing never to return...
