Our group experienced a situation where a male individual assaulted one of our friends, yet our entire party was removed from the venue, while the person responsible was allowed to remain.
We were given no clear explanation at the time for why our whole group was being escorted out. Only after waiting outside did one of your outdoor staff kindly explain the situation, he was respectful and handled things beautifully. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the indoor security team involved. To the point they made a member of our “party“ cry because of how forceful they were being while she was only sitting. The same security followed her out, down the side lane way and stood over her constantly. Trying to be intimidating. That’s super not ok. We were outside as asked. We were off to the side away. There was zero reason for security to follow and stand over her the way he did. It’s not part of security training to act that way. It’s horrible going to security for help only for them to treat you no better than the person who abused you.
Despite assurances that the individual who committed the assault would also be removed, that did not occur. Instead, we were treated as though we had done something wrong, being closely watched and spoken to in a dismissive manner. When we mentioned that we intended to report the assault to police, a security member responded, “Well, the police station is that way” in an extremely snide manner. Such a manner is highly inappropriate and unprofessional, particularly in response to someone disclosing an assault.
Adding to the frustration, we were refused the chance to finish our paid drinks or receive a refund, even though the majority of our group (three out of four members) had no involvement in the altercation. It was also particularly upsetting as the night was meant to be a hens celebration.
As locals and regular patrons, we expected a higher standard of care and fairness. The handling of this incident was extremely disappointing, and I hope Beer Deluxe takes this feedback seriously to ensure that in future, victims and bystanders are treated with respect and protected,...
Read moreI stayed at Paddy's Hotel last night. The Hotel itself has always been good - with a fantastic decked beer garden out the back & a good atmosphere. When checking in, the staff were very friendly & I found the bar staff friendly and attentive also. Sadly, there are some areas that need attention - the toilets in both bars are awful. You would think you are using the toilet at a suburban train station. In this day & age, with drink prices the way there are, this is inexcusable. The room I stayed in, located on the 3rd floor, was good value at $66 which included a double bed, ensuite, TV & balcony. No breakfast is included sadly. The room was fairly old & tired but had a good bed & TV. It was reasonably quiet for a Saturday night except for a bunch of drunken buffoons who decided to thump on every 3rd floor door between 3 & 4am. Not great, but I suppose that's the times we live in. I contacted the Manager who had security deal with it at the time, but the problem arose 15 minutes later. Some follow-up would have been appreciated. Anyone can gain access to the residential areas of the pub which should be looked at. There is one big criticism I have of the rooms - it appears at some point many of the doors to the rooms have been kicked in. The owners have done a very half-hearted job or repairing the damage, the first room I was given was unable to be secured properly, so bad was the damage to the door. I was moved to a balcony room (why not given a balcony room in the first instance??) which was marginally better, but has damage to the entry door & a large hole punched in the wardrobe door which had been half painted-over. I don't care how cheap a room is - this sort of damage should be repaired as it really brings the feeling of a room down. Big time. The bathroom cabinet was also well past it's use by date. It looked as if it had been rescued from the rubbish tip. Because of the damage to the room & the very rude interruption to my sleep, I think on my next visit to Albury I would stay somewhere else. I would certainly still drink at...
Read moreWhoever the girl working the entry fees and till was needs to get over herself, short hair and glasses possibly the rudest person I’ve ever met. Due to her own misunderstanding she charged me twice, $15 with an eftpos surcharge fee of 0.15, when I brought this to her attention she then tried to blame it on me and gave me $15 cash back. Then all I did was simply ask if I could get the eftpos fee back as well, it was like I had asked her to carry me on her back I’ve never seen someone become so rude and apprehensive in the span of three seconds. Next the girl (once again glasses short hair extremely up herself for no reason) without saying one word to my opened her cash box shut it and then tried to take the entry fee of people behind me. I was naturally confused because the girl hadn’t communicated to me at all and doesn’t seem to understand we aren’t mindreaders. I asked again “Can I get the eftpos fee back?” Because she had not bothered replied and simply glared at me. She then snapped at me “I don’t have the change, you’ll have to go see someone at the bar” whilst glaring at me and acting like I had insulted her. I just went okay before the girl still glaring and obviously upset for me for her own silly mistakes, took a $1 coin out and slammed it into the table without saying a word. I have never seen such a rude, entitled, ungrateful human being in my life, as someone who was already having a bad night this was enough to push me over the edge. Her attitude and complete and utter disrespect was disgusting, so I entered the club for a total of two minutes before promptly leaving without buying any drinks. It was obvious based on this girl (short hair, glasses, permanent glare) that this establishment did not want my business so they didn’t get any. I would hope management would speak to the girl about her disgusting service and educate her on working in a role with intoxicated people (if you can’t handle it then don’t do it). Either way night ruined,...
