I've now been here twice. First experience was for lunch, we were sitting out at the front. It does appear it's table service and we ordered from the QR code at the table. The service was very slow, they didn't bring water or cutlery and one napkin for a table of 3. Service was extremely lacking for this visit. I waited to review so I could check if this was a once off. I have also attended a Lils Long Lunch session. Again, there is a lot to be learned for the service. We were on time for our booking and waiting 15 minutes for anyone to come and explain how it worked and provide drinks. The food was ok, but again, they did not clear the tables sufficiently throughout the service but still kept bringing out the next lot of food. For dessert, they did come back and clear everything before they brought that out. While dessert (tiramisu) was tasty I have to say the plating was very poor. I've been to lots of different "bottomless" services in Perth so this is what my measure is against. The tiramisu was served on small plates but a plate with a slab that could easily serve a share serving of 4. It just looked messy. Suggest you get smaller plates and serve individual servings and invest in some dessert spoons! We were also left with the same forks throughout until they realized then brought us a few extra. If you can't do that, then change the dessert to something that you can give individual serves of and people can pick up easily. There are some small things that are lacking that could really make a difference to the whole experience. I know it's a new spot so I'm looking forward to seeing some improvements next time I go. In saying that, the manager who was looking after us was really lovely and did get us an extra drink at the end due to starting late. She was looking after us throughout drinks wise and drinks service did improve once it got started. It seemed like she wasn't supposed to have tables so maybe they were short staffed which isn't her fault. Despite this being a long review I will go back, I just hope the feedback is taken on board to give the team an edge because they are...
Read moreHad a wonderful time eating here on two separate occasions for dinner, during my trip to Perth. I had come as a family of 6 with two small children and we ate at the rooftop during dinnertime at around 7 on both occasions.
The food was incredibly tasty. On the two occasions, I managed to try the bar and share plates which included the grilled focaccia with whipped hot honey butter, which was delicious, fries with aioli and the fried chicken which was juicy with a little bit of spice. I also had tried the half-shell scallops which were absolutely delicious. They had a unique taste, spicy and tangy. All the above dishes would be an immediate re-order, if I were to revisit this restaurant again.
As for the large plates, the chicken schnitzel was incredibly flavourful and the grain-fed sirloin was cooked to perfection. I had ordered the classic margherita on both occasions, and they were both cooked incredibly well. The sour-dough-like crust was delicious and the cheese on the pizza itself was generous. The tagliatelle I had ordered on the first dinner was delicious, however it was not my favourite out of all the dishes I had tried.
For dessert, I had ordered the Oozy Brie, but was a little underwhelmed by the dish. The cheese was good, and paired well with the fruits and honeycomb, but it was not as expected.
In regards to the atmosphere of the place, it is a nice place to eat for dinner, regardless of weather. I had eaten on the rooftop bar/ restaurant area on both occasions and while it was outdoor, they had sufficient heaters to not feel too chilly. While most of their customers were groups of adults, I would not say it's not a kid-friendly place, as the waitress was very accommodating to our group that had two young children. She had given them colouring books and pencils to pass time during dinner which was very kind. Service is very good and the staff are friendly.
Would definitely return given the chance! Great restaurant...
Read moreI held my birthday event here and overall it was an awesome venue! I had many so many compliments on the space booked. The service was great from the time I enquired to the day of my event. I had Lils Hideout booked and as the name suggests it was a nice little hide away from the front of the venue. Special shout out to Bruno our bartender who had a smile on his face all night and provided great service. I used the projecter screen and sound for the night. Unfortunately, that was the only part that wasn't smooth sailing. I relied on it to play music, share a presentation and games, and it caused a lot of stress trying to figuring it out. Angela the manager was doing everything she could do help fix it. In the end we got it working! My suggestion is to have someone onsite with tech capabilities in making sure everything works beforehand and know how to troubelshoot. A mac adapter will also be helpful!
Regardless of the technical hiccups, I would still highly recommend this venue for events. The atmosphere, service, and overall experience made it a memorable night!...
