At 206 Moorabool Street you will find one of the most iconic institutes in Geelong,Sam's Cafe. From midday onwards there's a steady stream of hungry loyal customers snaking their way out onto the footpath awaiting their delicious shawarmas and yes I'm one them. Spiced lamb mixed with fresh lettuce,tomatoes and tabouleh with garlic sauce all wrapped up in flat bread and toasted until golden and crispy. Best lamb kebab on Planet Earth and served by the most lovely people. I had a lamb shawarma (kebab) minus the garlic sauce, chilli and coleslaw. I had sweet chilli sauce added. Soooo yummy. Beautiful thin toasted wrap bread so as to not overpower the other ingredients. Perfect balance and ratio of ingredients. Amazing tabouleh... and the lamb... my gosh. When I lived in Geelong over 10 years ago I used to frequent Sam's Cafe on a regular basis for their amazing Shawarma's. My husband and I recently moved back to Geelong and I was very excited to see that Sam's Cafe was still in business, with George at the helm.
