Probably the worst service I ever experienced. Among the lacks, the most important one was that we were a group of five sitting in a table that could have no more than three people. It was kinda uncomfortable (and yes, before and during our dinner some larger tables got available and there were bigger table used by only two people). The service was quite lacking no smiles and kinda rude sometimes (except from the older waiters) but we didn’t care enough to waste our time. Most of us ordered a Wiener Schnitzel- the food was good, but not good enough to fill this gap of lack of respect. When I asked for the check to be separated (we each only took few things, a dish and a drink, so it shouldn't be such a hard task), the same young waiter came and started with me. I paid with card, and when asked about the tip, I said "no" (never in my life I saw a waiter asking directly to a customer for the tip) because I didn't think they deserve it. And then he asked me why. It was quite awkward and funny to get asked why so I just simply said "Maybe this is not the best service". His face changed and he literally throw at us the full remaining check saying something like "no tip no separate checks" and leaving. I don't understand how can you feel entitled to be tipped when your is behaviour is so poor and rude. As a tourist, I understand that maybe there's a different tipping culture, but if your service is so poor and mean, don't expect anything from people. During this vacation I visited most European major cities and never, I SAY NEVER happen to witness something like this. I'm sure this is not the best and the only one restaurant in Wien, so you can easily skip this one and I go to a better one, with even better food that you can peacefully enjoy with...
Read moreArrogant, rude and liar waiter that cannot admit his mistake. Or maybe it was a scam.
We were a group of 5 people: the waiter came, with a rude face and we ordered: 1 ordered the fried mushrooms, 2 the beef goulash and 2 the grilled pork cutlet with mushroom sauce. The waiter repeated our order and it was all correct. We even pointed to the stuff in the menu to not make mistakes. When the dishes came, instead of the grilled pork, they brought veal schnitzel, which is 10 euros more than the dish we ordered. We said that we didn't order that, that we ordered the pork with mushroom sauce. The waiter then insisted and made up a conversation where he said that he had confirmed the dishes with us and that we wanted the veal. That's when we were sure that he was lying, because we know darn well we didn't say that. The waiter insisted, and we eventually caved in and accepted the dishes (we were starving). Never had I experienced something like this. Where the waiter forces the client to eat dishes that the client did not order and that were much more expensive than what was actually ordered. In fact, it was the most expensive dish on the menu. So, we actually wondered if the waiter did not make this "mistake" on purpose, to force us to pay way more. He did not even apologize. The food itself was good, but definitely not worth the overall experience. Do not...
Read moreSo , we had lunch here. Gulas soup, veggie cream soup, and sausage with potato and cabbage. Quite average...
They have this first page of the menu - kind of menu of the day/plates of the day, hand written (nice) but definitly unreadable, you could not understand the writting/letters. The menu was german only ... so not so much for non german turists... The waiter was very pushy with the tips, telling us that the service is not included on the bill, and asking afterwards, if the serving was not good. We were prepared to tip the guy, but, but they charged us 6.40 Euros for the Bread!! (4 pieces of bread). Whats up with that ?? We were prepared to pay somewhat 25 E, and ended up paying 30.40E. And they don't serve you Leitungswasser ( free tap water, super common thing in Viena/Austria), but only water with some siroup, for wich you pay 1.40 E. Definitly , not going back. ( all was very austrian , if that is what you are looking for!!). And if they are out of tables, you get seated with other people. Another common...
