TLDR: Started out horribly with obnoxious Italian (or something the like) waiter, but younger waiters saved the evening and gave us a much better experience! Interior is nice and warm, but food could be improved. Elaboration below.
Reserved a table for Christmas. Arriving at the restaurant we are seated by an obnoxious Italian (or something the like) waiter who seemed incredibly impatient with anyone and every order. After waiting for a rather long time, he comes to pick our orders; we are only allowed to give orders of drinks first, and as my boyfriend asks for Kaiser beer he mumbles "it is no good" - (even I sitting next to where the waiter was standing, could not hear his words properly", so my boyfriend asks again; this time the waiter starts talking rude to my boyfriend, telling him that he has already said that "the Kaiser is no good". Moving forward to meal orders, my sister in law asks for no parsley on her potatoes, to which he replies that it will be too demanding for the kitchen. So she has to go with parsley on the potatoes. Arriving at my order, I am told that there are no more "Christmas menus"... My boyfriend then proceeds to go down stairs, where the extremely nice waiter whom had served us earlier in the day and had taken our reservation, was working. Our original reservation was also located down there. My boyfriend asks if we can be moved down there, and this posed no problem at all. So we all move after have received our drinks. From then on our evening became extremely pleasant with a very nice service. The guys were doing an amazing job! I was even given the Christmas menu that I would like to have (and the sole reason why we picked this place initially!)... The Christmas menu was good, the entrée was delicious, but the main course was not to my liking - however, the goose was having a great taste! Desert was also nice. My family-in- law's food (as they don't care much for traditional Christmas food) was not to their liking, the meat was cold, and not tasty (I did not try the food though!) - the younger waiters definitely makes this place worth going to. The place does have a certain authentic feel to it, and nice Christmas...
Read moreWe found the restaurant by chance to have a drink. We had two waiters who we thought they were brothers. They were very nice and friendly. We wanted to make reservation for the evening and when we got there, there was a waiter who didn't speak English at all and he gave us a random table which we didn't want. There was also a weird guy who we had no idea who he was, came to us and said something in another language. He sat across and stared at us for no reason. Anyway we ordered and everything started there! The old strange guy kept picking his nose while we were eating, disgusting!!!! We asked the waiter who this guy was and he couldn't even explain!! After all we just left without finishing our dinner. The evening was a disaster when we could give 5 stars in...
Read moreRestartant is not worth of spending money. Meal was tasteless and far from real garlic soup, real Wiener Schnitzel. Alcoholic beer was great, non-alcoholic was terrible. We were although very lucky with service, very proactive young guy, who taken his job seriously. Always asked and follow up. At the end he appologised and took the drinks from our bill. We wish the chef was half good as this person. Potatoes were nearly cold as the palate was cold, salad was terrible tasted with vinegar only maybe lemon a bit, but nothing else. Vegetable with Wiener Schnitzel was dry, tasteless and with no reason...should be only good potatoes and THE Schnitzel. Restart has however very cozy interior so going here for beer or wine could be and oki...
