Initially we went to Sole aroound the corner but when we saw the menu there we decided to come here to Salieri as the pizza menu had a much greater selection and we're so glad we did come back. The service was quick as it was pretty quiet, just after lunchtime. The pizzas were fantastic and the stand out thing for me was the garlic oil, yum yum yum! I had already asked if they took cards for payment to which the waiter said yes so there was no messing about with us being told it was cash only as many reviewers put on here, nor did they charge us extra for using a card, nor was the service included on the bill, I willingly paid it extra. So we didn't encounter any of the messing about that others have mentioned. Just good food and good service. Worth a visit

It was ok. The pizza wasn’t great, the base I expected to be more moist and glutinous but it’s was more dry and salty. We tried two different pizzas and they did not impress. Granted I did eat all of one - the toppings, ham and pepperoni were super nice, but the base ruined it. The service here is fantastic and prices are average, we had some house wine which was nice. We did try to pay with Sodexo on a Saturday which was not accepted unfortunately (only weekdays). Interior is nice and feels authentic, it’s spotlessly clean and smells super nice, just the food let it down. Overall I think there’s better pizza places in the area, I cannot speak to the mains or starters.

We had pizzas and deserts. The pizzas were not great. The crust was too dry and salty, the quality of the ham was poor, the tomato sauce didn’t taste like tomatoes. The panna cotta was tasteless and the tiramisu didn’t taste like mascarpone but was okay as a desert. However the sirup they added to them was disgusting (industrial and way too sweet). Also, they told us when we had to pay that they only took cash because the terminal had broken few days ago but we can read thought the others comments that it’s a lie. If it’s the way they work they should mention it somewhere

Food was average at best, waiter was rude and abrupt and seemed to be focused elsewhere whilst taking our order, we ordered a garlic bread to start which didn’t arrive before our mains, so asked again and they said they’d get it… finished our meals and it had still not arrived.

We asked for the bill to be told it was cash only, that was our first time hearing of this, the waiter all of a sudden seemed to not speak very good English when we said we only had card, he understood our English fine prior to this. We repeated we only had card, but again he pretended to not understand and repeated “cash”. They then made my boyfriend walk to a cash machine which was 3 mins away and left me at the table on my own, this was at nighttime just to add.

We were charged an extra £5 to withdraw from the cash machine which we shouldn’t have had to do, my boyfriend came back with the cash and the waiter came straight over to take it, the total was €48.60 so we gave him €50 and waited for the change out of principle of already being charged extra for withdrawing cash.

After 10 mins we had to go and ask for the change, of which we were told they would bring it over. They came over 5 mins later trying to charge us €52 which included the garlic bread we didn’t receive. We told the waiter we didn’t receive the garlic bread, to which he miraculously didn’t understand English again. Eventually he took it off of our bill after getting the calculator up on his phone and working out the correct bill. He reluctantly (and rudely) gave us our correct change and then walked off.

Overall the food was bang average at best, service was so poor, and the atmosphere was also very average.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, there are much better and friendlier...

Bizarre experience at this place tonight convinces me that I must, must look at restaurant reviews before thinking of sitting down at any table. We asked for a large bottle of mineral water, brought by another waiter who surveyed us wordlessly and with the sort of disdain you absolutely know you're meant to sense as such. I couldn't figure out the reason, unless he'd mistaken me for Mozart. Our pastas, however, arrived without much of a wait, and I do want to be fair here: if you're a connoisseur of the sort of Italian food you could knock up on the hob with a sachet of passata and a range of flavour enhancers, do not hesitate to visit this restaurant. A set of cutlery for our hapless successors was set down even as we were finishing, and our glasses were cleared away with the wonted mute hostility. No I've-been-to-waiter-training “Would you like coffee, dessert, etc?” Which is where the really bonkers bit starts: why waste the chance to make a bit more profit just for the sake of indulging in misanthropy? So I asked for the bill, and here the next part of the craziness began. We were to be made to wait as long as possible, if no longer than it takes to complete military service or a religious retreat. Another waiter finally sorted it out. The bill was correct, €40.70, but I - as a British 10% tipper, as opposed to a continental rounder-upper - who had decided very unusually that there could be no tip here, was offered but €5 back. I made the error manifest and was ceded another €4. (All of which makes the reports of shadiness here the more plausible.) Utterly peculiar and generally...

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Pizzeria Salieri in Vienna. My friend and I stopped by for a pizza and some beers, and from the start, our waiter was consistently rude. When it came time to pay, the waiter informed us that there was a minimum charge of 35 euros for card payments. This policy was never mentioned when we ordered, and our bill was only 25 euros.

I explained that this was not communicated to us beforehand and that we didn't have enough cash on hand. To my shock, the waiter responded by threatening to call the police. I was completely taken aback by this behavior. After a tense exchange, he reluctantly agreed to process the payment for the 25 euros with card.

The poor service and the way we were treated left a very negative impression. I would not recommend this...
