I honestly never bother with reviews however, tonight's experience was something I will never forget! I was so appalled buy the staff at this establishment that I have chosen to try to help save anyone else the experience of a wasted trip. Our experience started by walking into the establishment, there was two gentlemen seated individually in the whole restaurant and no staff anywhere present with sign stating for us to wait to be seated which is what we did. After standing for 3-5 minutes we noticed a guy coming from one end of the establishment, as he got fairly close I addressed him with "hello" to which he seemingly looked right through me and walked past not even making eye contact with me. He proceeded to walk to the other end of the establishment and opened the door which was evident was the entrance to the kitchen. A few moments after this the kitchen door opened again and a female exited and started to walk towards us. By this time we've been in the establishment for close to seven eight minutes and I'm truthfully getting annoyed that were not seated yet considering there was only two other individuals in the whole restaurant. A staff member came moments later and did address us and I asked if she could seat us. At this point she asked me if there was something wrong and to be honest I was actually having a hard time getting my words out because I was so flabbergasted in her presentation towards us and the other individuals who had already walked past us and completely ignored us. When I tried to tell her what we had experienced her comment to us was "he doesn't have to address you he's kitchen staff" her body language, tone, expressions on her face and the words that were used while she was continuing to over talk me were so very rude and condescending that I stated I would rather just leave at this point and we turned to leave. It was at this point this staff stated "go ahead and leave I still don't understand what your problem is" I turned around and said to this staff member " " if you would be quiet long enough to hear what I'm trying to explain to you instead of over talking me continuously you would know what my problem is." It was at this point she talked her hands up in the air walked away and said "this is a pandemic and I don't have to put up with this" how do I read the reviews prior to going to this establishment I'm more than likely would not have gone it is seemingly common for there to be reviews on rude staff. So to the girl who called herself Jess, you're right this is a pandemic and I chose to leave my home specifcaly to attend your establishment to which I got rude treatment and to the kitchen staff with the dreadlock hair, you may not be waitstaff but you are a face of that establishment and next time somebody says hello to you you might want to say hello back and maybe offer to get a wait staff for the people...

Staff is very rude. They seem to have different rules regarding their advertised "free pool." I was there on my first visit in a while and there was a couple of guests who were there prior to us who finished playing pool but they were occupying the spacethere finishing thier meal. We were told by the staff that it shouldnt be any longer and we could have a seat in the area. But because they hadn't finished yet and they were still in the area due to covid this made it so that no other customer could have access to the pool table.(of course it is respectful and protcol of the business to allow the other customers to finish thier food and their stay but they were there for another hour or so after they finished enjoying the pool table and seemed to just be enjoying more liqour.) We left after having some drinks and eating without tipping. The next time i came i got there at about 10:30 pm which was around the same time as the last time although check this out, apparently they changed the rules -laughable-and they instructed my friends and i that we were only allowed to play one game of pool because "they wanted to accomadate other customers in the area". Were we not also customers last time we were in the restaurant on a tuesday night when the place was empty trying to play some pool? My friends and i have a history of enjoying the free pool and cheap beer advertised at the grafton location. To be honest, the staff at the moment seem to be highly lacking in customer service. Some come off as aggresive and always seem to have a chip and their shoulder. I think some attention to valuable customers who spend time and their money at your location is needed. If you have ammenities that cater to young adults, then do not mistreat them, instead take advantage of the business. The hostility that comes from some of the staff is so evident i only wish the owners could have some way to be able to listen to some of the staff and customer interactions. I forgot to add that i had a pitcher of beer that i intended to purchase of course, be ripped out of my hand by a staff member. (On camera).I believe it was because staff members and other customers heard my comment about thier below standard service which i have every right and ability to do so without question or the response i receieved. Not once was there any vulgur speech or slander towards any staff members and this can be audited/viewed/witness...

The night supervisor is very rude. She did not allow her team to tell me and my friends what her name was so I could write an honest review.

The night supervisor was very upset about splitting my bill 3 ways. After finally getting to split the bill, she turned very rude towards my table. She took the drink very aggressively out of my hands and kicked me out despite me just trying to speak with the manager to understand why my table got such a poor treatment.

All of us payed for our drinks and got our drinks taken out of our hands by force by the night supervisor and as result we got kicked out for trying to speak to the manager about the very aggressive service we were given.

My friends and I have never been this mistreated by a Halifax business like we were tonight. Asking to split a small bill shouldn’t be reason for such hostile treatment. This supervisor should not be allowed to run a team if that’s her way to treat her customers. We were in a total of 13 and willing to spend a fair bit of money and have a good time.

The treatment we were provided is very unacceptable. No money was refunded for the products we payed for after they were forcefully taken out...

Thank you so much to Chantel, Sab and the rest of the crew for finding my friends phone and contacting us promptly. I always love the service, but tonight you folks knocked it out of the park by going out of your way to make sure he found it promptly. Beyond that, 10/10 the most welcoming service in the city. Very much a give respect, get respect vibe at the establishment which is easy to see and appreciate as a patron. Always feel super safe. By far the best late night food menu, crew of regulars, and place to play pool. Brand new table you can play at for free too - one of the only free ones on the peninsula! Thanks for being a staple in Halifax culture. Tourists be sure to check this place out in summer 2024 - a Halifax local.

I was recommended this place and of course had to check it out. more of a restaurant/pub style place if you’re looking to sit down and have some food with cheaper drinks. I didn’t order any food but from what I could see it looked pretty good, the nachos seemed like a big hit. I ordered a drink called the bees knees, which was gin based but I wasn’t 100% sold on it because it was very sweet. I could barely taste the gin, which to some that’s good, but this one was just over powered with sweetness. if you’re looking for cheaper drinks before hitting another pub or looking for a good sit down area that isn’t crammed, I recommend this place.
