At this charming wood-fired pizza restaurant, the dining experience extends beyond its superb pizzas to an extraordinary Calzone Nutella cherry dessert.

The wood-fired Margherita Di Bufala pizza is a quintessential celebration of simplicity and quality. Excuse my personal additions to the pizza such as the red peppers.
The crust, with its crisp, charred edges and tender center, serves as the perfect base for the vibrant toppings. Fresh mozzarella melts beautifully, offering a creamy, rich texture that contrasts delightfully with the tangy tomato sauce. Each bite is enhanced by the aromatic basil leaves and a hint of olive oil, delivering a harmonious blend of flavors that highlights the essence of traditional Italian pizza. This dish exemplifies how expertly chosen ingredients and skilled technique can create a truly memorable culinary experience.
The calzone is expertly baked, offering a crisp, golden crust encasing a rich, gooey Nutella filling. Topping this delectable treat is a generous drizzle of vibrant cherry sauce, which adds a tangy contrast to the creamy chocolate. The combination of warm, melty Nutella and the dark fruity cherry sauce creates a delightful symphony of flavors. This indulgent dessert not only concludes the meal on a high note but also enhances the overall dining experience with its perfect balance of sweetness...
Read moreMy husband, Son and I went to dinner last night at this family run restaurant. The service was so friendly and comforting. It was late and the place was almost full. But we were never left waiting from walking in the to leaving. We tried one white and one red based pizza. The arugula salad and the fries (teenagers🙄). The salad was beautifully presented. Very generous portion and fresh. I’d go back just for that. My son and hubby thought the fries were delicious. They had a coating on them. They were hot and crispy and served with a small portion of ketchup and ate garlic, mayo which made my husband very happy. My son was not so happy since my husband kept dipping his fingers into the fries. The pizza dough was fresh and delicious and cooked in a Woodfire oven. We All enjoyed the chicken pesto without the red sauce. It was a generous portion of chicken, and the flavour of the pesto was very pleasant. We also had a meat lover style with the red sauce that was not so great for me, but not my normal style of pizza anyway. It was a lot of food that we ordered for the three of us so my son ended up taking a few of the pieces home. The pizza was good but not great. I enjoyed the flavour of the crust and the way it was cooked but the toppings and the sauce was just a little miss for me. This is a family run business Mamma makes the tiramisu, and can I just say holy heaven in a little square. If you go for anything go for the tiramisu, it was fantastic, really soft flavorful, and just simply delicious. we will...

We heard about La Vela Pizzeria through word of mouth from colleagues and I must say, they were correct.
Me and my sister came in for lunch while we were in town and got the Gnocco Fritto which I must say is absolutely amazing, fried dough? Can never go wrong, but to elaborate more, they are pillows of love that are tastefully salty, yet have a hint of sweetness from the fermentation of the dough. Next time I come in I'd definitely get the antipasto additions! 10/10
For pizza we got the Margherita di Bufala, and I will say, words can't describe this pizza, you need to try it. Mozzarella di bufala can now always go on my pizzas. I wouldn't suggest eating this pizza with your hands, but using a fork and knife made it feel a bit more elevated. We normally always have leftovers when we go for lunch, but this day we had nothing left, we even tried scraping the sauce off the plates. An incredible experience.
And best of all, both these Fantastic plates only cost us around 25$ and fed both of us. We were happily satisfied and surprisingly shocked with the price of this meal.
Thank you...
