The moment you step into this joint you'll feel like a little kid. It took me oh....about 5 mins. to pick out my goodies; deciding can prove to be a tricky affair. Desserts in a jar, Macarons, Cupcakes, very large Sandwich Cookies (they do their take on an "Oreo") and a variety of their speciality item "Butter Balls".
🤔What is a "Butter Ball" you ask? 👉Well...it's a ball (comprising 2 halves, with a creamy filling in the middle) made of buttah and, lots of it, then rolled in sugar....et Voila! A Butter Ball! (Boule de Beurre) They come in a few flavours: 🔹️Original 🔹️Lemon 🔹️Red Velvet 🔹️Chocolat and Caramel 🔹️Coconut 🔹️Nutella and Coffee 🔹️Nonna Maria - original with pastry cream and grappa 🔹️Nonno Carlo - ricotta, marsala and coffee
👉The taste: The Cookie exterior tastes very similar to Shortbread - a more dry, firm, and crunchy (due to the sugar coating) version. The filling (I had the Nutella and Coffee, and the Red Velvet and both were very sweet. At some point everything stared to taste the same to me because I was experiencing a case of "the sugar overload". Then my eyes glazed over, I developed a sugar twitch and the rest of the evening was a haze (ok, that's a bit dramatic). So in a butter ball shell...it wasn't for me.
You still ought to give it a try though, and if you're not up for a sugar coma try something else, this joint is still worth a shot.

We were looking to host a high tea for 20 people, following a courthouse wedding and instantly fell in love with the lovely decor of their private room. Vanessa has been responsive and attentive to our needs, was accommodating to some of our guest's allergy requirements, and had put together a beautiful setting, all in respect to the thematic of our wedding event. The attention to detail was noticed and appreciated by all. Her team on the floor were present and responsive, always nice and courteous to me and my guests. We pre-selected a number of teas from their provided list of teas and the selection was varied enough to satisfy everyone's taste. I personally enjoyed their earl grey and peach tea. The food tasted fresh, the selection of sweets are tasty and the service paired nicely with our teas. I especially remember their matcha macarons and cupcakes. Thank you Bar à beurre. We had a lovely wedding event and your decor, food and service have contributed to making this...
Read moreOn a positive note, there was a very cheerful, nice woman working at the front counter who greeted us. Our party of 4 had a reservation for high tea, so we were then handed off to a server - who insisted the reservation we made (just hours earlier) did not exist. I think perhaps the situation threw him off a bit, because from there on, though he said it was still possible to do the high tea, he was quite flustered and disagreeable. We decided that we'd just come back another time, bc we preferred that we have a nice, comfortable experience for high tea. As I left the shop, I saw the manager so I mentioned to him that this experience was disappointing compared to my previous experiences. What's crazy is that I think I put it quite nicely, without a bunch of complaining or anything - but he became somewhat aggressive. Honestly, I just wanted to be helpful to management, so that they were aware. I just can't believe the type of response. Perhaps they were just having a very stressed day, I'm not sure, but after that, I won't be...
