Mumbai Masala — Restaurant in Montreal

I really wish I could score this place higher however I placed an online order, the restaurant delayed the pickup time (I'm guessing due to high volume of orders) which is fine however I arrived for my pickup at 10pm as told to and still had to wait until 1045 for my pickup a whole 1h40 minutes after my initial order. Onto the food: The onion bhaji was cold, like it was made 1 hour ago when I placed my order. The samosas were warm and flavorful although on the small side. The butter chicken and rice were delicious. The naan and garlic naan had no difference in taste besides a few pieces of crunchy garlic on the naan that added very little flavor. The mango lassi had a good taste. The packaging for takeout was great as all liquids were in sealed containers then plastic wrapped to avoid spillage. Horrible management. The manager/owner didn't seem to care about capping the number of people flocking into the small restaurant during peak hour. He was probably just focusing on making as much money as he could. There were only 2 servers on late Saturday night and they were having a hard time dealing with all the orders and displeased customers, which is understandable. I bet the kitchen was also having a hard time keeping up with all the orders. All of our entrees were wrong... We ordered Chicken Dopeyaja and Lamb Karahi Gosht but they gave us Lamb Dopeyaja and some sour chicken curry. Instead of Lachchca paratha, they gave us some generic Tandoori naan. We decided not to tell the server about it because not only that they were having a bad time with all the chaos, but the food took 2 hours to reach our table.

I wish they had an option to give 0 star , coz this is what this restaurant deserves .. To start with their service is amazingly pathetic … I called to order veg thali and they said it’s available , I asked them what all will be included in the thali and their answer “jo bhi kuch aaj ke din bana hoga woh daal dengey… I mean who gives such kind of answer, With such kind of response , I understood they must not be professionals hence before we were to arrive at their restaurant , I again called them and checked if the thali is available and they said yes .. once arrived , a young girl at the counter says it’s not available and then I spoke to 4 more people from the restaurant to understand why was I told that it’s available and they all had their own manipulative answers … No wonder they have 3 star rating….
