We didn’t plan to eat here.
The IHOP down the road was closed, and the breakfast buffet at another place looked cheap and uninspiring. Our friends from the UK—along with their kids—were craving real food, so we gave this IHOP inside Fallsview Tower a reluctant try. We honestly expected it to be overpriced just for the view.
Outside the tower, we met an IHOP staff member at a small desk near the stairs. He didn’t pitch us or say anything about prices—he simply pointed us to the elevator, and the lady at the front desk waved us through. Only later did we realize something surprising: the usual $24 tower admission fee had quietly been waived. That was our first pleasant surprise.
Then we stepped into the elevator, and everything changed.
We were seated on the 26th floor, where the panoramic view of Niagara Falls takes your breath away. There are two IHOP dining levels—25th and 26th—but this upper floor felt like something special. You’re not just eating breakfast; you’re dining in the clouds.
And then came Ashley—our server, our guide, our calm amidst the breakfast chaos of a group of six. She was warm, attentive, and simply wonderful. She made the whole experience flow with ease.
The food? Real, hot, and lovingly cooked. Not your typical tourist spot fare. We ordered a spread: Eggs Benedict, omelettes, pancakes, chicken and waffles, and more. Every bite was satisfying. Even the kids were happy. Just take a look at our receipt if you’re curious—we indulged, and we’re glad we did.
The 18% gratuity was already added, but we still left an extra tip. Ashley was worth it.
And yes… the view. OMG, the view. Niagara Falls glimmering beside your pancakes? It doesn’t get better than that.
What started as a fallback plan became one of the most unforgettable meals of our trip. Our UK guests still talk about it. So do we.
If you’re visiting Niagara Falls and wondering if it’s worth going up—it is. Skip the buffet. Follow the IHOP sign. Step into the elevator. Ask for Ashley. And prepare to be surprised. All staff is amazing. Busy bees. 🐝
Five stars,...
Read moreEDIT: I had to remove 1 star (1.5 stars if I could) due to prices, and the price in relation to food quality. I could not in good conscience give this restaurant a 5 star rating because of the outrageous prices.
To compare:
IHOP: 1 Belgian waffle, omelet with 3 blueberry pancakes, stack of 2 blueberry pancakes, 1 chocolate milk, 2 coffees = $123 cad
Turtle Jack's: 1 traditional breakfast (3 scrambled eggs, 3 sausage links, breakfast potatoes, sourdough toast), steak and eggs (3 eggs, 5 oz steak, breakfast potatoes, toast), stack of 3 large pancakes (delicious), 2 coffees, and juice = $68 cad
As you can see, the difference in pricing and the amount of food you get, as well as quality, is glaring.
I would only suggest IHOP if the view is important to you, but even then, some tables do not have the great view you are paying for.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Our family of three decided to try this IHOP despite the negative reviews. This is your typical IHOP food. We were seated quickly and we were in and out in about an hour. Our order came out correct and pretty quick. There are unlimited refills on the coffee. Our son had a waffle (previous review stated waffle maker broken, but has been fixed). Our bill came to $123 cad ($23 in taxes) for 3 people (in the US our bill would have been about $60 USD for the same meal), but the prices here in Niagara Falls are much more than other places. We enjoyed the view...
Read moreService is horrible. One person in our group literally had hair in their food and all the staff could say was “ok?”, not even a “sorry I’ll take care of that for u” or any compensation for this. Manager is racist. Asked us to get up and pay the bill at the front cash which is fine but what’s not fine is the attitude of all the staff there. When we got to the cash my brother asked to use the washroom and the staff kept ignoring the question and rudely said pay your bill. My brother didn’t even get anything to eat and they treated us like we are trying to steal from them by saying stuff like “oh u didn’t get anything then I’m not worried”. It was obvious they treated us like this because of our skin colour. The table beside us got much better service and we’re attended to first, not surprisingly this group was of Caucasian decent. As a group we ended up paying $420 for 7 people for extremely mid food. Specially when asking for these kinds of prices we shouldn’t be treated like we are asking for a discount. If you are a person of colour I would tell you to avoid this place at all costs. Additionally as all the other reviews mentioned the up charge in this place is insane, for something that was posted for $22 on the menu we paid $50 after the compulsory 18% tip then they add tourist tax which they wouldn’t take off for locals even when requested. This is...
