On Wednesday, my party of ten dined at Vittorio's Italian Eatery. Our attempt to make a reservation via OpenTable was frustrating, as the system wouldn't accept reservations at any time slot we selected. Fortunately, when I called the restaurant directly, they were able to accommodate us without any issues.
The restaurant is situated in the food court of a shopping area, which initially gave me some reservations about the dining experience. Unfortunately, it became apparent that the restaurant is not kid-friendly, and the dining area was extremely cold. To make matters worse, fruit flies joined us for dinner, even sipping our wine.
Despite these drawbacks, our waitress, Lexus, provided very attentive service, ensuring that our party felt well cared for throughout the evening. Her professionalism helped set a positive tone for the night.
Moving on to the meal itself, I ordered the veal, hoping for a delightful dish. Unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing. The mozzarella used in the dish was of poor quality, hardening not even two minutes after being served. The veal itself lacked the finesse one would expect from an Italian eatery, resembling fast food quality more than anything. Additionally, the pasta was mediocre at best, lacking flavor and freshness.
Despite the letdown with my main course, the appetizers were a different story. The clams casino were outstanding, so much so that we ended up ordering two servings. The other appetizers were also quite good, showcasing the kitchen's potential.
Lexus's attentive service helped mitigate my disappointment with the food. Additionally, I must mention Dino, another great personality at the restaurant. He was friendly and added to the welcoming atmosphere.
In conclusion, while the location in a food court isn't ideal and the restaurant had several notable issues, the attentive service and the quality of the appetizers made up for some of the shortcomings of my main course. Overall, I would rate Vittorio's Italian Eatery a 7.4 out of 10. For those interested in experiencing Lexus's service, you can also find her bartending at Ruth’s...
Read moreNot so great..... We were greeted by someone who should not be greeting guests.
We were then shown to out booth, and the hostess was never seen ever again.....place seems nicely decorated. We waited and waited,We waited and waited,We waited and waited,We waited and waited,We waited and waited,We waited and waited,We waited and waited.....no greeting , no waitress introduction, no waters, no drink orders, NOTHING. No one scanning the tables in thier section, whos section is this????
Menu had the usual , expensive suspects, all with out the usual service.
So we had had enough and start to put out jackets on, THEN the waitress come over and asks if we have been helped.
Nope not at all.
We ask how long is it going to take as our child is hungrey and we all have been waiting got so long to even be greeted by a waitress. She explains its " just to busy tonight" Wow So we decide to leave. No apology. End up going to the outside kiosk to grab anything for our child. I grab a slice of pizza and ask about some pasta. The Guy at the counter says "It will be 30min. We are really busy" Wow. I would suggest a couple things to this reataurant. Schedule more staff. Hire better staff. Train your staff better. Greet your guests. Apologize when things go wrong. Notice when things go wrong. Substitute " we are just to busy " for " wait times are longer than normal"
The slice of Pizza was horrendous. Pizza sauce ? What's that.... ? Nope not on this greasy expensive mess of a pizza slice.
If you want an italian experice, simply go elsewere, this place was horrific. There are tons of other choices were you will be treated to a nice meal at a fair price with good service. This is not the place. Can't stress how much you...
Read moreWe were originally planning to go to 21 Club at Fallsview Casino but the menu seemed too steak and potatoes for us and while checking out the many dining suggestions available within the casino decided upon Vittorio's. As it was a Friday evening I booked a table just in case but while the restaurant was crowded there were a few tables available along the periphery adjacent to the food court. Staff were warm, friendly and efficient from the moment we walked in greeting diners with a smile or hello. The menu has many options and the restaurant accommodates dietary needs for the most part. We started with the Antipasto per due offering a selection of meats, giardiniera, cheese, fruit and olives and wonderful bread. We ordered cocktails to begin the evening and for our main course selected one of the chef's specials Sea Bass. Beautifully presented dishes with two large filets of the fish over roasted vegetables. As it was our wedding anniversary complimentary Prosecco was served. Our table with crisp white linens and solid black chairs faced the Fallsview Food Court but Vittorio's is a full service restaurant off the Food Court with an attractive indoor dining room along with a garden patio dining patio bordered with faux boxwood. No washrooms available inside the restaurant but washrooms are located across the Food Court. Allow 1-1/2 to 2 hours. $$$$ with alcohol and gratuity. Highly recommend Vittorio's Italian Eatery. Located on the Lower Level of Fallsview Casino. We opted for Ponte Vecchio for dessert following a Show at the Avalon Theatre, see...
