We came here because we have two dogs and this establishment have really spacious outdoor sitting and they were happy to accommodate us! All the staff at Sunset Grill are really friendly and nice. One of them were kind enough to bring a bowl of water for our pooches (thank you very much).

The menu is extensive - I ordered meat omelet, and it was REALLY good, loaded with really generous portions of meat. My friend got veggie omelet and he said that the omelet was super delicious. The bread came in thick slices with generous slather of butter. Pretty fantastic (yeah no calories counting) I saw my friends BLT sandwiches and it was very well done and look really tasty. Coming from the States and craving for poutines everytime I am in Canada I decided to get Sunset Grill poutine but it comes with a twist! Instead of gravy it is with hollandaise sauce and home fries as base. It was really good!!! All the portions are rather big and I had to take the poutine home.

While the food was fantastic, I think what really made a difference was our server Teresa!!! She came up to us with a smile and at the first interaction I know that she is super unique. I like to joke a lot but she is really good and witty on her response. She really held up her end of our amusing repartee!! Not only that she have this way of making you feel like she could easily be your friend cause everything about her is so genuine, so nice and is so full of warmth. She was very attentive, checking on us, making sure that we have everything. Before the meal is over, I can see that we are becoming friends. It was the best dining experience we had in visiting Niagara Falls. Teresa was kind enough to take a photo with me and I am sharing this photo as a part of my review. This is definitely one of my precious moment of visiting Canada!!! Will definitely be back. Kudos to Sunset Grill and thank you for being awesome...

We went there yesterday and overall, it was just okay. The service was actually quite fast and friendly, and the outdoor seating area was nice, but the interior smelled greasy and felt a bit stuffy.

The menu really needs an update it’s very limited, mostly just basic diner items and a small side salad. If you want to swap the homemade fries for a salad, they charge $5 extra, which honestly feels unreasonable. My boyfriend got the Eggs Benny, but the hollandaise sauce tasted like it came from a mix, and the eggs weren’t the best quality. The bacon and sausage were overcooked and dry.

I ordered over easy eggs, but one of them came out almost medium-well. On the bright side, they did have couple bread options. Still, the whole meal felt a bit underwhelming.

They should really consider expanding their menu to include more protein-forward options or something for people following different diets like keto or carnivore even smaller spots these days have something more versatile. The fries were also quite burnt and not worth the extra charge.

Also, there are only two washrooms, one of which is downstairs with just a single stall, which isn’t very convenient. Overall, it was fine for a basic breakfast, but nothing stood out and there’s definitely room for...

Good food, reasonable service.... but the automatic tip charge is absolute robbery! No signage or was it expressed that an automatic gratuity is added. A simple breakfast for 2, came to $35 AFTER $12 AUTO GRAT, Bill was $50!!!! Simply OUTRAGEOUS. Complaint is to management to at the very least explain to guests or have posted signage of the restaurant policy. Hard times for everyone not just your staff. I happily paid it as the staff were working hard. However the policy should be made known to customers to make an informed decision to pay a 30% tip.

**UPDATE Since the original post of this review the owners have contacted me. Immediately a thorough inquiry was made. These owners were very concerned as they DO NOT have and automatic tipping policy at their restaurant. The added service charge was a technical glitch and by no means an attempt to scam the guest. I formally retract the initial review. These owners clearly are devoted to their patrons and their community. It's so refreshing to meet dedicated restaurant owners. I highly recommend Sunset Grill to any visitors of Niagara on the Lake. Thanks...

Amazing Brunch Spot in Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) If you're ever in Niagara-on-the-Lake, don't miss out on this fantastic brunch spot! The outdoor terrace is an absolute delight, especially on a sunny day. The ambiance is charming, with a beautiful setup that makes for a perfect relaxed brunch experience. The food here is top-notch. I tried the eggs and fries, which were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, complementing the eggs perfectly. The pancakes were also a highlight - fluffy, light, and served with just the right amount of syrup and butter. And let's talk about the coffee. It was simply amazing. Rich, aromatic, and brewed to perfection, it truly enhanced the overall dining experience. I highly recommend giving it a try. Overall, this brunch spot offers a wonderful combination of delicious food, great coffee, and a delightful outdoor setting. It's definitely worth a visit!
