Disappointed is an understatement. My husband and I always try to give places a fair shot—regardless of the reviews—because we know every dining experience is different. Unfortunately, this one left us regretting that decision. We arrived on time for our reservation, ready to enjoy the evening. Instead, we were “greeted” by a server who barely acknowledged us. No welcome, no confirmation of our reservation, no check-in to see if we were celebrating anything special (thankfully we weren’t). He simply grabbed two laminated menus and led us to our table, seating us next to the loudest guest in the restaurant. It felt like the server was more focused on catering to that table—perhaps because they were spending big—than making sure anyone else was taken care of. We ordered the vodka pasta, the mushroom fettuccine, and the arancini to start. Oddly, everything came out at once—including a pasta dish we didn’t order. When we mentioned this to our server, he didn’t apologize. He just picked up the wrong plate and walked away, leaving my husband with his meal and me with…nothing. We waited another 12-15 minutes for my dish to arrive while my husband’s food sat in front of him, getting cold. What should have happened? The server should’ve left the incorrect dish on the table as a gesture of goodwill, apologized sincerely, and let us know the correct dish was on its way. Simple hospitality. Instead, the whole moment just felt dismissive. When the food did come, it was fine—but not $37-a-plate fine, especially when you’re handed a laminated menu that feels like it belongs in a dive bar, not an upscale Italian spot. We’re not asking for Michelin-star treatment here, but if you’re charging premium prices, the details matter. To cap off the night, the dessert menu was practically slammed onto our table without a word. At that point, we just wanted to pay the bill and leave. Then came the kicker: an automatic 18% gratuity on the bill—for a dinner for two. Let’s be clear: in Ontario, automatic gratuity is usually reserved for large parties. It’s not standard practice for small tables, and frankly, it feels like a way to offset underwhelming service by forcing guests to pay for it anyway. We’re locals and understand how the industry works, but this felt wrong. Are we now directly covering the cost of your front-of-house and kitchen wages? I’m requesting a call/email from the owner or manager to rectify this experience. If we hear back, I’ll update this review so others know you made it right. If not, we won’t be returning—and we won’t be recommending this restaurant to friends, family, or anyone else in the community.

This restaurant is a prime example of what social platforms like TikTok are doing. Amplifying mediocre experiences into trends. Service - We had a reservation, that required a CC to hold the spot. Upon entering the restaurant, my husband notified the “greeter” regarding our reservation. No hello, no hi. Just a rude “give me a sec” with irritated and miserable voice. His body language was a great indication of his work ethics and hospitality. (I think he was the manager, bald head, lots of attitude) He walked us to the table and slide the other table aside to turn a 4 seat table into 2 seat with so much anger and hatred. I was contemplating walking out all together just based of the first few minutes of my experience. It was my husbands birthday, I did not want to take a risk and walk out, looking for another establishment at this point. Call me lazy. We finally sat and were greeted … actually greeted by a great young brown girl. She was so warm and sweet, it really helped us change our mood. Between this phenomenal young lady and our waitress. We finally felt comfortable enough to order and enjoy our meals. It’s 2022, people are looking for pleasant experiences. If you can’t offer that, you should not be working in this field. Customer service… there is a reason why it’s called customer service. Food- bland Italian food, decent enough to enjoy with friends, not spectacular or epic. Just okay at best. Drinks- no drink menu for cocktails. Each drink is roughly $20. I hate saying that but my Bloody Mary was watered down, I always judge people who complain about alcohol. Sadly, it was just water and tomato juice with one olive. Dessert - alright Overall - not surprised why this establishment has 3.5 stars. There is a lot of competition in this town. Service is an easy fix, only if you make it your priority. If you are looking for an expensive experience with no happy ending. This is it! It is an experience for sure.

Came with some friends for dinner to catch up. Initial first thoughts of the restaurant ambiance/aesthetic was very warm, welcoming, cozy, and pleasing. Dishes we had in my most favourite to less. -BISTECCA AMERICANA {Ribeye, fries, veggies} (8.5/10) the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and had a smokey flavour to it then dressed with a Montreal seasoning. The fries were made perfectly but also for a chipotle sauce to pair with it. Then asked for other veggie options instead Brussels sprouts that the dish originally comes with. -PAPPARDELLE ALLA VODKA (8/10) changed the pasta rigatoni but the sauce paired with pasta was nice and creamy as a tomato base sauce. -FRITTO MISTO {Calamari, white fish, and shrimp} (7/10) I found the serving of this dish wasn’t enough as you got little bits of the following. But also the sauce that comes with the dish wasn’t enough to finish with platter. -FETTUCCINE AI FUNGHI (7.5/10) really enjoyed the fresh pasta and cooked al dente, but something with this black truffle sauce didn’t hit home. Wouldn’t order this again as I find it was good to try, but not to come back for. -BURRATA (6/10) The pizza itself was cooked well with a crispy crust. Also nicely spread of sauce, but I found it wasn’t close to being one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Sad to say it wasn’t worth even thought it was to be said one of the more popular dishes at Moretti. **They will serve you water and continuously fill your cup up for her. But they charge without letting you know per bottle of water** Service was great and waiters/waitress were always on the ball and had great customer service skills. One thing that was sad to hear was when my friend noticed there was a tv and asked for the basketball game to be played. The manager didn’t want to play it due to bringing a wrong crowd around.

If I could less than 1 star I absolutely would. After wanting to try this spot for a while I am appalled I gave this place my money. Server name is Mesut & shouldn’t be a server.

Booked this for my birthday and made note of that in the OpenTable reso. Absolutely zero acknowledgment of anything. I saw 3 other tables get birthday sparkler desserts. I got nothing.

It was absolutely dead in there to the point where we thought we were in the wrong place lol. The staff was extremely casual. On their phones everywhere & laughing at memes in front of guests faces.

Dinning: The waiter dropped off a bottled water and we said no thank you we want tap & he ignored us women & continued to pour us the bottled water & we were charged for it yet didn’t order it!!!!! We asked for cocktail menu was told they don’t have any and walked away from us leaving us absolutely confused and lost. After googling & Waited for the waiter to come back 15 min later to take a drink order (now at table for 20 minutes with no drinks) the drinks we ordered were sangria and passion fruit spicy marg which we had to google and come up with. Zero help from “bartender/server” dude had zero creativity or recommendations. They came & were mid. Mine had no tequila in it. Just tasted like juice. It was also $25. !!????

Appetizers were honestly mid. The mains came & was okay. My friends was cold mine was kinda warm. Never had someone come over to ask how the food was.

We did ask for the dessert menu since no birthday dessert was offered or even acknowledged. We waited 15 minutes for a tiramisu to come which again no birthday celebration. at 8:22pm we asked our awful server for the bill. We waited 45 MINUTES FOR THE BILLL!!!!!! We sat at our table with no water no drinks and no more dessert for 45 minutes. We had to ask 3 other servers.. 45 freaking minutes is absolutely insane. Our server kept chit chatting with co workers avoiding eye contact with us, was his phone laughing at memes with some guy in a jean dress shirt who worked there? We were about to walk out on our bills cause it was absolutely absurd. All 3 of us are servers ourselves and this was the the worst service we have encountered and sadly witnessed. It wasn’t until I called over this talll white Eastern European server & asked him (3rd time) if we can get our bill. He was the ONLY one who got his stuff together and got us the bill. Our servers name was Mesut and he was absolutely horrid. Ruined my birthday evening with such mediocre service. I am a bar manager myself at a high end steakhouse and I would’ve fired this individual based on his lack of simple steps of service which are clearly lacking.

To anyone wanting to try this place. Don’t! Zero Italian authenticity right down to the servers. If u want overpriced pasta & pizza with horrid mediocre service & getting charged for items you didn’t order & then waiting 45 minutes for ur bill & to be acknowledged then sure …....

This place is an absolute scam, moreso than any of the other similar restaurants in the City. We had a large group and made reservations for a Sunday night. When we came in and were sat at our table, they informed us it was minimum spend of $85 per person. At no point was this communicated prior or else we would have just reserved somewhere else. On top of that, they don’t even let you split your bill (fortunately this part was communicated when we made the reservation). You want to impose a min $85 PER PERSON but don’t allow bill splitting? Make it make sense. Tried to dispute it saying we were not informed of this when we made the reservation but they would not concede. We decided to eat the cost and stay as we had already wasted 30+ minutes waiting for servers to even come talk to us, explain this, speak to the manager, etc. They finally started taking our drink orders some 45 minutes after we sat. There doesn’t seem to be a drink menu, just a wine list. Supposedly they have a full bar and can make most standard cocktails/mixed drinks but you have no concept of prices, which is counterintuitive to the min $85 per person policy. We were starving by this point so I tried to ask if we could also order food already but the server informed me he had to take the drink orders first and he could not take food orders yet. Drink orders were placed and then they gave us the food menus finally 1hr after we sat, and it took around 15 minutes to take our food orders. They served us cold bread about 1.5 hrs after we sat. To their credit the food came out not too long after (maybe 15-20 minutes after we all finished ordering). It was decent but nothing to write home about. For a pasta, starter (I split with one other person) and glass of sangria, it was ~$100 including mandatory 18% gratuity. I would also like to note though, they do charge you for water and did not inform us even though they were very proactive in refilling our glasses. Every swig I took, a server would refill my glass without asking and I thought it was just good service, but looks like they were trying to use up as much water as possible. TL;DR this place was not worth the price in any way shape or form and had the slowest service I have ever experienced. If I could give negative stars, I would. I do not recommend this place and would absolutely not want...
