This restaurant is incredibly family-friendly, especially for those with small children. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. I ordered takeout this time, but I noticed there was a play area inside where toddlers were happily playing. As a parent myself, I know how challenging it can be to keep young children entertained while waiting for food, so having a space like that is truly wonderful. The food was also excellent. My daughter’s favorites—sushi and tempura—were delicious and came in generous portions, which was a pleasant surprise. I think both tourists with children and those without will find this place satisfying and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

A wonderfully legitimate Japanese-run restaurant in an unexpected location - a gem of food find in Ucluelet! With no prior knowledge, our group decided to drop in and take our chances. We were greatly rewarded for giving it a try! Tables are wired with bells to ring staff for assistance While pricey our food consisted clearly high quality seafood. I ordered the ‘Snow White’ & loved the unique mix of ingredients for this roll - absolutely delish. Our entire group was extremely pleased with their meals Limited seating inside - but pick-up is also available (Follow me on INSTA: @aida.loves )

Very very small portion of food but expensive… that eight pcs of very thin small salmon sashimi is $18.99 its rediculous.. i also got a spicy chirashi don but the sause was not enough so the taste was plane.. I ordered 2rolls, 1 sashimi and 1 chirashi don and paid more than $70 i could’ve had a lot more food in Nanaimo I left home to pick up the food but when i almost got there they called me it’s 25mins delayed after 25mins when i got there, there was hardly no people and they are not busy at all, but the food was still not ready. Bad customer service and expensive.

Sake Sushi is the one & only sushi sashimi spot in the ocean village of Ucluelet. It certainly is impressive in this role, making fresh & imaginative dishes of both, & in all the Japanese food categories; some sushi sashimi combos, as well as a nice selection of bowls. All the offerings from Sake Sushi I have had have been fresh & delicious. At lunch time it also offers a selection of bento boxes. It is open all days but Tuesday for both lunch & dinner, with lunch from 11:30 am to just after 2 pm, then closing until 5pm when it opens for dinner, closing @ 10 pm. It offers complimentary green tea, which its great servers, Michelle & Jennifer, top up & keep hot. It has a number of craft beers on tap, which are 9$, a little more than the 8$ or less a pint, which is more common @ surrounding places. As well, it offers Sake options, as would be expected. The service from Michelle & Jennifer is excellent with them both showing patience with restless & noisy children, who come to eat & play @ its indoor play area. It also does takeout. I recommend all three...

This may not be the type of review that a sushi restaurant is looking for, but...

Sake Sushi has more vegetarian options than just about any Japanese restaurant I have been to. Anywhere. They also have more vegetarian options than just about any (besides vegetarian) restaurants around. They even said they plan to add more options.

My dinner companion and I ordered the teriyaki tofu and the tofu donburi. We are both fans of donburi (we make it at home), but have never seen a vegetarian version at a restaurant. It and the teriyaki were both quite tasty. They both have vegetables and an ample amount of tofu.

The staff are very friendly and quite efficient. The food came out really quickly. They have only been open for a few months, but they really seem to have it together. I hope Sake Sushi is around for...
